I flinch as I remember that bite. I look around me at the plain prison cell like interrogation room. The walls look like plain plaster, the colour of off white. But I know that behind the plaster is layers upon layers of thick and strong steel. Enough to stop a vampire from breaking through. In the centre of the room is a plain metal desk with two chairs on one side and one on the other side. There's a one way window on one wall and on the opposite wall is a pair of chains made of steel and embedded with magic to prevent them from breaking under a vampires strength and dipped in the blood of the ancient slayers so that the metal will cut into a vampires skin and burn them the same as if they are in the sun. I lean against the wall on the side of the individual chair in-between the window and chains. They haven't chained me up because they don't think that I'm a threat. Yet. An evil voice inside me whispers. They won't find out. I tell myself. I bite my lip, glad that they haven't turned into fangs yet. I cross my arms over my chest and look at the window waiting for them to come in. I know that they're there. Staring at me, waiting till I do something that will tip them off that I'm not who they think I am anymore. I let out an unneeded breath to keep up the charade and then the door opens. My eye lids flutter rapidly as a bright stream of light flies into the room, before they adjust to the sudden brightness. Alwood once again stands at the door surrounded by her guards, she steps inside and her guards make a move to follow her but she holds up her hand in a halting gesture and they stop.

"Leave us alone. I trust Raven." The guards hesitate before letting the heavy door fall closed behind the headmistress and the loud click of the lock falling in place resounding through the chambers walls.

That's a mistake. A little voice whispers, like a sound carried by the wind.

"Please, sit." Alwood tells me.

She says it politely but there's an underlaying order beneath it. I walk forward and take a seat in the single chair, before she also walks forward and takes her place opposite me. I look at her, her face could have been kind if it were not hardened by the years of battle she has been in.

"Now Raven, tell us why you left." She acts as if she's so superior, like no one would dare harm her and no one could. Bite her. The voice whispers, or curse her. No. I scream back at the voice. It's the part of me that's like Jessie that wants me to do that to her. Come on! She deserves it! Why does she think she's so much better than you? Now you actually have the ability to show her that your better than her. The voice continues to scream at me until I almost can't bear it and almost give in before Alwood snaps me out of my dream like state.

"Raven, did you hear me? Why did you leave us?"

"I...I..." I stutter for a few moments trying to get a hold of myself, but then I take a breath and make seem as though I am recomposing myself when I am actually getting my story straight.

"I just needed to get away for a little while. After what happened that day-"

Alwood cuts me off, "Of course that's completely understandable, but you still should have told someone."

"I know that, but I was just a bit overwhelmed-" I break off as the memories of the day I left come back. Memories will resurface as new fangs go through the change. A voice whispers in my mind and then I'm thrust back into my past.

The door flies open and Alwood and her guards burst into Izzy's.

"Headmistress!" We practically shout, jumping off of Izzy's bed.

Izzy's chestnut brown hair goes flying everywhere as she and I both bend our heads down in respect her amber eyes burning like fire in surprise and alarm.
