When we came back
We fell into our normal routine
Talking when possible
Facing the embarrassment togetherThen the line between reality and dreamland blurred
The world was colored in red, pink, and white hues
A night full of nervous laughter, running, and the music of screaming
We couldn't tell what was real and what was a dream
And I was content to let it continue that wayThen the between-land burst into fiery touches
Every touch and gaze was burning
Branding me saying "Mine!"
I had hoped for this in my dreams
But it was reality
I could see you through my mask
Touch you with my actual hands
Every nerve alive screaming "Closer!"The between-land then faded
Since nothing lasts forever
But I believe
In that small song of less than four minutes
I found an infinity with the perfect amount of reality to keep me grounded
And enough dreams to keep me soaring
