Chapter 4: Shocking News

On the way home, Mrs. Martinez didn't say a word neither did Mia. They were so surprised and Mrs. Martinez was so disappointed. That was the longest ride home Mia has ever experienced. Mrs. Martinez pulled in the driveway and got out of the car so quickly. Mia sat there for about ten minutes trying to figure how could that happen when her and Maison used a condom. She was so confused and decided to tell Maison when it was the right time. So she finally came to her senses, went inside the house, and called Ava to tell her the news. Ava was so shocked to hear the news, and told Mia that she needed to tell Maison as soon as possible. Mr. Martinez interrupted her conversation with Ava with his yelling and screaming. He was so angry at her, he didn't even want to look at her.

When Mia went back to school that Monday, she was so afraid because she didn't want to be the talk around school. Maison left for school a little before her, so she went looking for him. She asked every football player, every teacher, Ava and Santos, she asked everyone that knew him. She went to the library and saw him studying for his history test. She slowly walked toward him as he watched her. He could tell something was terribly wrong by the way she was walking. So when she sat down, he asked her if anything was wrong. Then she told him that she was pregnant and he couldn't believe what he was hearing. He knew that couldn't be true, because they used a condom. She cried and cried upon his shoulder while his face was in disbelief. He finally calmed Mia down, and told her that they will get through it together. They needed to figure out how they were going to tell his parents.

After school, they walked to Maison's house. When they got to the front door, Mia was nervous of how they'll look at her thinking she got pregnant on purpose. Maison told her that everything was gonna be ok and there was nothing to worry about. Mr. & Mrs. Drake were in the front room watching television together, and they saw Maison and Mia walk in. Maison's parents turned their attention on to them, instead of the television because it looked like something serious was happening. Mia and Maison sat down and told them the whole story about prom night and what happened after prom. Mr. & Mrs. Drake understood where they were coming from and knew that it was a mistake. They knew it was only one solution to that mistake, they wanted Mia to get an abortion. Mia explained to them that her parents were willing to keep the baby because they didn't believe in abortion. Maison's parents were disappointed to hear that, but were willing to do the same. They believed that this was a test for them, and both of their parents will help out in every way they can.

Eight months later, Mia's due date was coming up soon and they needed to prepare for it. Maison's parents bought the crib, bassinet, car seat, high chair, and all of the baby's furniture. Mr. and Mrs. Martinez bought all of the little things such as: diapers, pacifiers, blankets, clothes, hats, and all of the supplies for bathing. Mia had her diaper bag packed and ready for delivery. So one night, Mia was asleep and suddenly her water broke. She started screaming and panicking because she didn't know what to do. Her dad came rushing in and walked her to the car while her mom got her diaper bag. Maison ran over to head to the hospital with her and helped to calm her down. She kept yelling and screaming all the way to the hospital. They arrived at the hospital at one in the morning, and Dr. Khan assisted them quickly as possible. The doctor admitted her to a room, and in the room was Maison and her mom. A couple of hours later, the baby was born, it was a beautiful baby boy. Maison Lyam Drake, Jr. was born at 10:38 AM on November 2nd, 2011
