Chapter 5: The Life After

Five years later, Mia and Maison moved in a house together with their four year old son, Maison Jr, and had their own cars and bills. Their house was in Sacramento, California and their jobs were in Pasadena, California. Their son's daycare was very close to their jobs, so they can easily pick him up after work. Their life has been great after the birth of their son. They kept in contact with Ava and Santos after graduation, and asked them to come over for a drink one night.

Ava and Santos arrived at Mia and Maison's two-story house behind Mia's G-Class wagon. They walked in to see MJ playing with his toys in the front room and Mia in the kitchen cooking spaghetti with a nice garden salad. Mia walked toward Ava and saw that she was seven months pregnant with a little girl. Mia was so happy for them and congratulated them. Maison walked in on their conversation and asked Santos to follow him to his man cave he had in the basement. Mia showed Ava around the house while catching up on what's been going on in their lives lately. Ava told her that Santos purposed and they were getting married sometime next year. Ava asked her to help her find a dress and bridesmaids' dresses and she also asked Mia to be her Maid of Honor, and Mia was so ecstatic, she said yes. Santos asked Maison to be his best man, he said yes and asked him to help him find tuxes. They all came back in the front to eat dinner, and they all sat around the table to say grace. As they were eating, they all laughed at how they were all shopping for prom together and now they're shopping for Ava and Santos' wedding.

The next day, Mia and Ava decided to hang out and have a girls' day. They went dress and shoe shopping, and they had a blast! Santos and Maison hung out all day in Maison's man cave, drinking beer. MJ was with Mia's parents, so they can have time with their friends. Ava told Mia that her and Santos were thinking about moving to Sacramento, because they wanted to be close to Mia and Maison. They have been looking for a house ever since Ava got pregnant, and they haven't had any luck finding one.

Two months later, Mia got a call from Santos freaking out saying Ava was in labor. Mia woke Maison and they both rushed to the hospital and looked for their room number. Mia and Maison couldn't enter the hospital room, because they weren't family members. As they sat in the waiting room, they can hear Ava and Santos screaming. Minutes later, Renee Marie Desalves was born at 11:57 AM on February 2nd, 2016. She was 6lbs. 11 oz. and beautiful as she can be. After the delivery, Mia and Maison were able to go in and see Ava. The nurses took Renee to the baby area where all of the babies were after their delivery. Santos took Maison where Renee was placed, so Mia and Ava could talk. Ava asked Mia to be the godmother of her baby girl since Ava was MJ's god mom, of course, Mia said yes. When Maison saw Santos hold Renee, it reminded him of how he looked at MJ when he held him for the first time.

The following year in September, Ava and Santos were preparing to get married. After years and years of being good friends, they're marrying their best friend. The decorator set the wedding venue up like they were in Paris. It was so beautiful, and the wedding colors were black, white, and red. The roses were red, the dresses & tuxes were white, and the shoes were black. As Ava walked down the aisle, Santos watched her with his crying eyes until she approached him. They said their own vows and MJ was the ring bearer, he looked so handsome in his white & black suit. After the ceremony, everyone headed to the reception. It was time for the bride and groom first dance, and they looked so happy. Mia, Ava, Maison, & Santos head out to the back of the building for a toast, they let the lanterns go meaning their love is everlasting, and they lived happily ever after!
