Laying in bed thoughts

So we all have those times where we just lay in bed and can not fall asleep for the life of you. So you sit there staring at the ceiling. Well that's what happened to me last night , and that is where some of these came from.

What happens when you die hmm? All the religious people are going to start crying and saying you go to heaven or hell. And all the non religious people will say, well you die, End of story. Well what do either of those or anything in between actually mean. If I died tomorrow what would happen. Would some spirit come down from heaven and bring me up to all the dead people in there for me to confront God and tell him I repent? Or would the Devil grab me by my ankles and drag me down to hell to suffer for eternity. If neither of those happen then what would it be to die. To not think anymore, or not have memories. To just not feel. We humans can not fathom that thought. You wouldn't see. Or hear. Or remember. It wouldn't be pitch black. You just wouldn't exist. That is a scary thought to me. It's not that I fear death. I realize we will all day and that is just how it works and will be how it works until us power hungry humans come up a way to cheat death. Until then we all die. I however have my own belief after last night. What if when we die our brain makes whatever we believe to be true happen. When a christian would die his brain would force your soul or whatever it is into "heaven". Or for an Atheist, there brain would just shut off. So the Atheist would just be nothing until the end of eternity.

I also thought about animals. How they think. So theoretically dogs would think in barks, yes? And cats in meows, cows in moos and so on. But what if they don't think like that. What if they have telepathic powers or something. What if dogs and other animals that us humans believe to be below us are actually above us. And they are just smart enough to make us think that we are above them.
