*Reader's 1st person POV*

"May I have this dance?" George asks. I laugh and place my hand in his. "No," I answer sarcastically, "I'm too good for you." But we were already starting to dance across the ballroom floor. We talk some, just about everyday things. How boring or fun certain classes were, who he, Fred, or I was pranking next, how well the team was doing, which I was on, and just the dance in general. When the song ends we stop dancing and he gives a fake bow. "It was my pleasure." I laugh as he stalks away into the crowd.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to see Hagrid. I smile as he asks to dance. "You look right beautiful tonight, (y/n)." He says. I look up and thank him. He had to have been almost two feet taller than me. But he was nice, and probably my favorite teacher on the campus. "You look nice too. Dressed up." I say. He nods his head. "Seemed like the right occasion."

By the last few songs of the night I had danced with Neville, George, Hagrid, Dumbledore, Ron(surprisingly), Harry, and even Krum who had asked for a dance. He was surprisingly good at dancing and not as stiff as you would think. But the one person I had wanted to dance with hadn't asked me yet. And I was scared he wouldn't. He was sitting off to the side. I had only caught him dancing thrice. First with Hermione, then with Angelina Johnson, though he didn't seem to enjoy dancing with her, and then with Ginny.

Other than that he had sat off to the side the entire time while the rest of us were out dancing and having a ball. I decide that some friendly comforting would come in handy. I wasn't happy about it, but I had heard from George that he was scared to ask his crush. My first thought was, Fred? Scared? But I dismissed my thoughts and went to sit down next to him.

He looks over at my flushed self and grins. But I could tell his heart wasn't in it. "Having fun, are you?" He asks. I smile and nod my head. "Definitely. But I could be having more fun."

"And why would that be?" He asks.

I take a deep breath, knowing I had hidden my feelings before, but feeling more exposed than anything right now. "The guy I like still hasn't asked me to dance yet. And that would mame my night." He smirks, but once again, his heart wasn't in it. What was wrong?

*Fred's POV*

She said it again. The guy she liked. I give a small smirk but I know she can see behind it. I just hoped she couldn't tell that the girl I liked, was her. I didn't know what she thought. But she seemed happy, despite her saying she could be happier.

Her face was flushed from all the dancing, buy in a pretty, glowing way. Her natural blush could be seen through her makeup that she didn't even need. She was beautiful without it. Her light rose pink dress accented her curves, even with the fuller skirt. And despite the length, it didn't make her look short, which she normally was. Even with the heels I still had at least a foot on her. And I normally didn't pay attention to the details of dresses, but I couldn't help it when it was on her. It had an off the shoulder neckline that showed off her (s/t) shoulders. The necklace she wore rested right on her collar bone and her earrings matched perfectly. It looked like she was from the early 1900s.

The only thing I could go without was her hair style. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful, and I assumed that Hermione had done it. But (y/n)'s hair looked better down. It was almost too beautiful to wear up. But I had to admit it helped the whole look.

As I scan her, her blush grows and she looks down. "What's all the staring for?" She asks. I shake out of the trance I was in and actually look at her. "Nothing. Just staring into space." I lie. It was a stupid lie. It was obvious I was checking her out. Normally I would say something along the lines of, 'I like what I see, that's why'. But with the way she was looking at me with an innocent smile and a blush on her already rosy cheeks, I couldn't.
