The 4 Dragons and the Beast (Akatsuki no Yona, Hak x Yona)

10. The kiss

Shin-Ah P.O.V.

It's Monday. We have to go to school. I wonder how Hak, Kija, Jae-Ha and Zeno are feeling today. They should however be feeling better since Yun did give them some medicine. 

I eat and put clothes on. I put on a white t-shirt and black jeans. On top on the shirt I choose a dark navy blue button up shirt, which I leave open. I also take my favourite squirrel necklace and hide it under my shirt. Before I leave, I give Ao lots of food.

Today seems to be a normal school day. Everyone came to school, even Yona. Her bruises are healing good.

First class is Russian, which is taught by Tanja, one of our favourite teachers. We learn about the laws and culture of Russia and we start discussing about the discrimination of gays. 

For some reason Jae-Ha is really devoted to the subject and is angrily protesting about it. For some reason, he and Kija keep exchanging glances.

I see Kija quickly write something down and pass it to Jae-Ha. Then Jae-Ha becomes oddly quiet and doesn't say a word throughout the class.

During the break Jae-Ha asks Kija to go somewhere with him. Kija quickly shuffles out of the classroom. A few minutes later Yona and Lili enter. They look around and come straight towards me. Yona asks "Why did a blushing Kija follow a really determined looking Jae-Ha to the boys bathroom?" Zeno answers, "Huh?" Yona turns to me, "Shin-Ah, do you know?" I just shake my head.

Math starts and Mundok comes in. Jae-Ha and Kija are still not back. 3 minutes later Jae-Ha enters, looking normal, after him comes a flushed Kija.  Everyone is confused since they are not the type to be late. Mundok gives them a lecture and we continue with class.

Mundok keeps teasing Hak and Yona, probably because Yona stayed over at Hak's place. He keeps asking them all kinds of questions and gives them weird suspicious looks.

A couple more classes pass and then it's finally lunch break. We all sit down in our usual spots except Kija and Jae-Ha who sit next to each other. They have a odd aura around them and everyone can feel it. Everyone looks at each other and "the couple" with suspicious looks.

I gobble up my food. It tastes weird, just like always. I look up to Kija and notice a tiny spider in his salad, which he is currently eating. "Kija, there's a spider in your salad". 

Kija looks up to me for a while then glances down at his salad. He lets out a scream, which probably caught the attention of every person in Saku. He flips his tray over towards Hak and runs away. Hak just sits there and starts picking the salad leaves out from his hair. Suddenly, Jae-Ha stands up and runs after him. We all get quiet and watch him leave.

Yona starts helping Hak with the salad pieces when the silence is broken by Zeno's loud laughter.  Soon enough they all laughed, even I let out a small chuckle. Zeno turns to me "You laughed? You did, didn't ya?" I start to panic, gather my stuff and go put my dishes away, leaving Zeno, Hak and Yona at the table.

5 minutes before the lesson and everyone is already in the classroom. Since there is no sign of Jae-Ha and Kija, Hak and Zeno decide to sit together. But then "the couple" enters the classroom, Jae-Ha instantly starts yelling at Hak. Hak responds, "I didn't think you'd show up, but now that you're here you really don't have much choice, so just sit with Kija."

There's some rather awkward tension between Kija and Jae-Ha, but they don't put up that big of a fight and just agree. Soon enough the lesson ends.

After I take my jacket from my locker, I start walking home. On my way home I see Kija and Jae-Ha in front of me. As I look closer I notice that Jae-Ha's arm is around his waist. Up until Jae-Ha's house, they keep walking like that. Once at his house they stop in front of the main door. I also stop, just in case.

They are saying something, but since I'm quite far away, I can't hear it. They keep getting closer and closer to each other and before I know it, Jae-Ha's hand is on Kija's cheek and they are kissing.

I feel my face getting red. What do I do?! Should I tell the gang? Or should I maybe call Yun? I panic for a bit. I look back at them. They are now fully making out. WHAT DO I DO?! 

I turn around and decide to take another route home. The one that is the furthest from Kija's and Jae-Ha's house. 

When home, I get calmer since Ao is there to greet me. I decide to call Yona and see what she has to say.

"Hi." 

"Yes, Shin-Ah?"

"C-c-can you come o-over?"

"Ye sure, Hak is going to come too. Is that alright?"

From the background I can hear Hak yelling, "Where are we going?" Yona kindly answers "To Shin-Ah's place." I can hear Hak getting louder, "NO, I don't wanna go back to that squirrel hell." "Well, it doesn't matter, you don't have a choice." Yona strictly says.

She starts talking to me again "We will be there in 15 minutes"

They arrive and I let them in. Hak enters very carefully and looks weary. "Don't mind him, he still hasn't sobered up completely" Yona tells me.

I tell them what I saw and Hak freaks out. Yona just looks at me in confusion, "Are you sure it was them?" "Now I can't look at squirrels, Jae-Ha and Kija the same way." Hak cries out.

"Deep inside I knew this would happen one day, but I wasn't ready for this." Hak sits on the ground, starting to calm down.

"Yes, it was them." I finally answer Yona. Yona suddenly scream with joy "I'm so happy for them. I hope they tell us about it soon themselves." She suddenly looks like she's dreaming "I wish I had a boyfriend.." I notice Hak rolling his eyes. 

It ended up not being a normal school day.
