"But we loved with a love that as more than love--
I and my ANNABEL LEE." ~Edgar Allan Poe
It was here, at a Kingdom by the Sea
Where I dwelt, and dwelt with misery
But across the water I could scarcely see
An object or person was swimming towards me
It was a fair maiden that I was seeing
With all the features of a beautiful being
I thought it false, I thought I was dreaming
But it was true love that she was bringing
And on that day, the Angels were singing
The bells of glee were ringing
She was my Queen, and I her King
And it was to her that I was clinging
Yes it was there, on the Kingdom by the Shore
And a golden necklace was all she wore
Her story revealed she was ousted as a whore
She used to love, but loves no more
So I took her in and treated her well
Before very long, in Love I fell
I was freed from my black shell
I was free from from my black Hell
I grew to love her with the whole of my heart
Neither mortal nor God could tear us apart
I have been guided from the land that was dark
Now it is time to start over from the start
Both of us shunned by society
But we both loved and loved mightily
We needed no God, no piety
On our own we built a dynasty
But one dreadful night, she left and left quietly
The Angels in Heaven took her and took her silently
Now nothing can bring her back, not prayer nor bribery
This was indeed an act of piracy
My hopes are gone, my dreams are shattered
My heart bleeds, it is torn and tattered
My conscience has been beaten and battered
My very pride stomped upon and splattered
At the very top of my castle, on this Kingdom by the Sea
Is from where I leaped, into the blue of the sea
Because the Angels stole her away from me
There exists no contentedness or glee
Deeper and deeper I sank into the sea
All I desired was Her, and Her with me
Now grief and sorrow is all I see
In this deep blue, I will wait for thee
Right here, in this Kingdom by the Sea.

Kingdom by the Sea
PoetryJust a little poem, inspired by Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe. It's pretty damn corny, but oh well.
