Thunderstorm - Calum Hood

The next thing I knew, I was texting Calum, non-stop. And Selina did the same, the smile couldn't be wiped of her face every time her screen lit up again, showing Ashton's name.

We sat in a little pizzeria, not far away from the park, both smiling like idiots because of what these boys were doing to us.

'Kae...' Selina spoke and I looked up to her, her face was blushing red but with a shy smile.   

'Oooohhh god.. How many weeks and who's the daddy!?' I joked, receiving a punch on my arm as Selina bent over the table.

'It's not funny!' She cried and I chuckled, gladly to see a smile spreading across her face too.

'No babe, tell me. What's wrong?' I asked, putting my phone away to give her full attention.

'I, uh.. I think I like A-Ashton...' She mumbled, playing with her fingers as the familiar bright red colour crept on her face.

'I know holy shit! Do you have any idea how you look at eachother? You're both deeply in love!' I almost shouted at her, my excitement to big to be contained.

A shy smile played around her lips, but her face was still bright red.

'You have to meet up with him again, otherwise I will have to take action!' I said with a grin, cocking my eyebrow up so she knew I wasn't joking.

'Oh yea? What about you and Calum hu?' She teased, smiling bright, knowing she had the same effect on me as I had on her by mentioning his name.

My big smile immediately faded, replaced by a shy smile, my heartbeat increased and the butterflies in my stomach rose up.

'Nothing, we'll see how it goes.' I said and grabbed my phone again.  

Calum, 18:47 - hey kae, you know what we should do?

Calum, 18:49 - kae?

Calum, 18:50 - where did you go :( ?

Calum, 18:50 - please come backkk :(

Calum, 18:51 - im lonelyyy and I misss youu, come back babeee :(

Calum, 18:52 - did you ditched me already for another guy :( ?

Calum, 18:54 - kae babe please :( ?  

I laughed softly as I read his text, my breath hitched when he called me babe. I typed a quick answer back, as I saw a waitress coming our way to to take our order.  

Kae, 18:59 - gimme a few minutes, I'll explain it to ya, oh, and i miss you too, desperate boy ;) x  

I giggled softly and put my phone away again, to look up to the waitress.   

She was tiny with beautiful brown curls, a chocolate coloured skin, maybe a few skin tones lighter, her eyes were brown and almond shaped, her lips soft and she had a row of perfect white teeth.

Fuck my life.  

'Hi, welcome to Jionni's pizza's! Can I help you?' She smiled, getting out a little notepad. She took our orders and walked away again, and I took out my phone.  

Calum, 18.59 - i'll wait for ya, and I'm not desperate! 

Kae, 19.05 - sure you're not ;) what did you wanna talk about?

Calum, 19.06 - the two lovebirds ;)

Kae, 19.06 - us? Ahaha, no I know what you mean ;) we have to get them together!

Calum, 19.07 - Ash keeps talking about her, we actually have to ""accidentally"" bring them together!

Kae, 19.07 - oh my god yes! But how?

Calum, 19.07 - i'll come up with something, go enjoy your dinner, talk to ya later okay? Xxx

Kae, 19.08 - ofcourse, you too xxx  

Whilst we ate our pizza's we talked about what we had to buy for our apartment, beds first. We discussed wall colours and kitchen tiles, even the shower curtain was a subject. When we were done eating we decided to go to the park, just to find a spot where we could talk.   

'Do you miss home?' Selina asked, laying down on the grass whilst I say beside her.  

'Actually, I don't.. I feel so free, and just happy. No more bullshit.' I said whilst playing around with my phone.  

'Exactly, I'm glad we're away.' She smiled.  

We sat there for maybe an hour, when we decided to head back. Whilst we were walking down the road, suddenly cries filled the empty dark night. We both knew something wrong was going on, and we followed the sound quickly. In an alley behind the pizzeria, we saw two figures. One was clearly a man, towering above the smaller person, shouting swear words at her, raising his hand and bringing it to her face, smacking her to the ground. Anger built up inside me and Selina already started running.  

'Hey! Leave her alone!' She shouted and I quickly followed her.  

The guy turned his head, clearly unstable on his feet, and it made sense when I saw the bottle of whiskey in his other hand.  

'Get the fuck away!' He shouted hard, threatening to come our way.  

'One step closer and I swear to God the police will be here in a minute.' I spoke out, my voice trembling from fear and anger.  

'You wouldn't dare you filthy slag!' He shouted, quickly taking another swig from the bottle he was holding.  

'Oh yea? What makes you think that?' I shouted back, pressing in the numbers and holding the phone to my ear.  

Meanwhile Selina kneeled down at the girl, comforting and inspecting her.   The man slowly backed off, the anger still visible in his movements.  

'This wont be the last you hear from me, you're all fucking sluts!' He shouted and stumbled back, running away, bumping into several objects in the process.  

I breathed out deeply and noticed I was shaking.  

What the fuck just happened?!

I walked towards Selina and the girl and kneeled down with them. Only then I saw it was the girl from the restaurant, the waitress that served our dinner. She was shaking but stopped crying.  

'Hey, you're okay?' I asked her and she smiled a weak smile.  

'Yea.. Thank you, really, thank you.' She said and I smiled at her.  

'Who was that?' Selina asked, rubbing the girl's back to comfort her.  

'My boyfriend, well, ex-boyfriend. I broke up with him a few weeks ago but he just won't leave me alone...' She said and I saw her eyes filling themselves with tears again.  

'Hey, he will now, we will take care of that. What's your name?' Selina said with a smile.  

'Brandy, and yours? I really can't thank you enough..' She said again.  

'No problem sweetie, I'm Selina.' She said and helped her stand up.  

'And I'm Kae.' I introduced myself with a smile.  

'Nice to meet you.' She said and the brighter smile from this afternoon came back.  

'Do you got a place to stay?' I asked her, inspecting her clothes and bag who were dirty. She shook her head and looked down a bit.  

'You do now, come on, lets go home.'
