"Mom are you okay ? " Veronica questioned as I was finishing the touches on my make up, I was about to catch August lying ass in a act.

"Yes " I smiled , I kissed her cheek walking away making my way to the garage. I decided on the car that we didn't usually ride in and made my way to meet up with August & this Melanie girl that he's been seeing. My phone started ringing I didn't bother to see who it was I answered.

"Yo " I deep voice said , I scrunched my forehead up in confusion who the hell is this.

"Who-

"Marcus " he said cutting me off it was the guy from the grocery store.

"What do you want ? I'm kind of busy " I said annoyed.

He laughed "Damn V you ain't gotta be so mean I was wondering if I could take you out ? No where special or anything just get to know that's all we could go take a walk in a park or something ". He said my mind drifted off to what Ashton told me the other day he said I needed to "live more".

"Mhm , sure but I'll g-"

"That's all I needed to hear beautiful" I smiled , then hung up. I couldn't lie Marcus was indeed fine but my dumb ass is still stuck up August ass I wouldn't even give him a chance or take it there with him.

Pulling up to the Carnival I spotted August immediately my emotions started running all this love I had for him was slowly turning into hate.

I placed my shades on my face as I watched them sit on the bench hugged up surprise paparazzi wasn't around. I got out the car making sure they didn't see me I walked to the bench sitting down next to August.

"No invite ? " I asked as much as I wanted to cry I had to keep a straight face I couldn't let him see me weak anymore.

"Oh hey your his sist- Vanessa ? " she said as her eyes got big.

"Yes Vanessa " I said as my blood begun to boil.

"I'm-"

"Your what ? A damn liar I'll have your things packed for you .. I'm done August I can't do this with you anymore " I said pulling away from his grip he had on my wrist.

I was so done , more then done. As much as it hurts I didn't care at this point life's short I'm so ready for all these new beginnings that life is about to bring me.

Arriving home I saw ton of hot topic magazines with me , August , and mango on the front cover. The titled read "August jammed up" I shook my head throwing it down.

I picked up my phone calling Marcus.

"Are you ready ? You can just meet me at lakeside park " he said.

"I'll see you in twenty minutes" after hanging up I took off my make up putting my hair into a sloppy bun and dressing in one of my Victoria secret jogging suits and Nike running shoes. I grabbed my Fannie pack that matched my outfit and shoes putting my belongings into it.

"I thought you would stand me up " he chuckled I rolled my eyes as he brought me into a hug he was so buff he looked amazing in his running gear.

"So Vanessa " he turned to me as he smiled I busted out laughing he has that same big ass smile the other day when I seen him at the grocery store.

"Why do you want to know ? " I said looking up from my phone that's typically how people start out conversations so I knew the questions were coming.

"What do you like to do ? " he started off as he looked up from his phone briefly and looked at me. My neck cocked to the side a bit , "I love being with my kids and at my stores " I said.

"How many children you have " he said taking a seat as I did the same but a lil away from him.

"Seven well eight now " I sighed he looked at me confused then his mouth formed in a "o" form.

"Your fine ass pushed out seven kids " he chuckled I shook my head laughing.

"No three of them aren't biologically mine the first Asia that's my .. Unfortunately she's a child outside of my marriage " I said.

"So h- oh okay I get what your saying and the other two ? "

"Asia's mom d- I'm sorry I shouldn't spill all of m-"

"No no I understand we can talk about something else if you want " he said reassuring me I nodded a little uneasy.

"Are you just black ? " he asked I shook my head no.

"African American , Mexican , and North Korean " I said he smiled , god this man was blessed with an amazing smile. I was caught off guard when my phone started to ring I seen that it was August I declined it.

"Well what about you Mr ? any kids ? "

"No but I do have two twin nephews I treat like their mine " he cracked a smile.

"I appreciate you giving me a chance as a friend Vanessa " he said ten minutes after a comfortable silence. I glanced over at him "Mhm I thought you'd be one of them crazy people "I said serious as he busted out laughing.

"You mind getting a bite to eat ? " he asked standing up extended one hand helping me up.

"You-"

"It's fine you can drop me back off here once we done eating " he nodded. He had an nice two thousand sixteen all chrome truck Cadillac.

We stopped at a deli sandwich place which a old women serves us.

"You two are one cu-"

"Uh miss we aren't t-"

"Oh hush child that ain't what God saying " she smiled she took her notepad from her pocket and wrote down what we ordered.

"You got something right there" I giggled nudging the side of  Marcus's mouth. He sucked his teeth rolling his eyes playfully I smiled as I bit into my sandwich.

"I don't mean to sound s-"

"Your welcome V my pleasure I'd love to take you out more too " he said it was so crazy how he said what I was thinking.

"Yea" I nodded as I sipped my Sprite. After getting done we headed back to the park , he walked me to the car opening the door for me I raised down the window as we chattered for a few minutes.

"I'm glad you let me take you out V " he smiled as his eyes sparkled a bit it seemed. "Call me once you get in so I can know you mad it home safely" he added on I nodded as I smiled.

He was indeed a beautiful man.
