Jake and his dad were running through the woods behind their house, going somewhere that only Jake knew. "Dad, move faster!" Jake yelled at his father. He was significantly ahead. They were heading to a secret tree house that Jake had been slowly building since he was 15. It was completed last year, and had proper defenses from both the undead and raiders. There was barbed wire around the perimeter, solar panels up to the top of the tree, an underground cache of food, water and medicine, and a panic room with enough supplies to last 2 years. The lights inside were set to turn off whenever the thermal cameras detected a heat signal, because humans rely on sight and zombies rely heavily on smell. There were strong herbs planted all over the place to throw off the zombies. It was extremely well hidden as well. Jake and his dad had just arrived and hauled up the ladder when the radio came on. The news reporter said "Breaking News. The outbreak at the hospital has spread deep into the city and everyone is advised to not leave their homes and board up their windows. Say goodbye to your loved ones. This will not end well. Thank you all for list- *crash* - hey wait!! AAHHHAHHGHA- . His cries of pain ended abruptly as Jake and his dad looked at each other in terror. "We have to get my friends." Jake said with a deep breath. "You can't, it's too dangerous!" His dad replied. "I have to dad. Stay here." Jake exited the treehouse and ran into the forest.
