Someone Better

Chapter 15

I tip toed inside the house that I new so well. All the lights were off, I slowly opened the door that was to the right and creeped down the steps. I avoided the broken ramp that had never gotten fixed. When I finally got to the bottom I took two steps straight and ended up in my brothers room.

I turned the fluorescent light on revealing his dark blue room with a big F on the longest wall for Ford. His room was the smallest in the house. He had just enough room for a bed, dresser, and desk. I smiled to myself and walked out of his room. I walked into the family room and saw the couches, chairs, and t.v.

I continued walking and the huge canning kitchen for my mom was to my left. I walked in there and looked around. It's cleaner and more organized than when we first moved in almost four years ago. I turned back around and walked up to a door on my right. It had my name perfectly written on it in teal paint.

I turned the door knob and pushed the door open very slowly. I walked behind the door and turned my lights on revealing the bright green walls, teal ceiling, bed, dresser, closet, bean bag, and a pink comfy chair. The outlets were painted pink as well. The bed set was stripes. Zebra, light pink, and pink floral. I smiled really big as I back when we first moved here.

Flashback

Slowly I lifted the paint lid off and smiled looking at the bright green.

"Oh my goodness that is brighter than I thought! I'm gonna go blind!" my mom said looking at the paint.

"Oh shush!" I said waving a hand at her. "When's Penelope getting here?" I looked up at her excitedly. Penelope is supposed to come help me with my room. I already vacuumed and everyone's room is painted butane. I have been waiting for so long! I was always so busy with work and helping around the house.

"They will be here soon," she said walking in with paint brushes and roller with the pan thing.

"How sooooooon?" I asked like I was three.

"Clara how old are you?" she sternly asked me.

I sat up straighter and grinned at her, "twee!" I said as I held three fingers up.

"I wish," she mumbled as she looked at the whole in my wall.

A couple days before that my brother and dad were taking a shelf off the wall and my brother pulled too hard and the side my dad had made a hole!! I was so mad!

End of flashback

I smiled and looked at all my posters. Each one was up perfectly. All straight and evenly separated. I remember when my friends came over after I had all my posters up. "This looks more like your room!"

I walked over to my wardrobe and opened it up. I ran my hand along all my shirts. Just the way I left them. I took one out, my favorite. I crossed my arms across my stomach and took a hold of the bottom of my shirt and lifted it above my head taking it off. I grabbed my favorite shirt and put it on.

It was a tight pink burnout v-neck shirt that said Good Girls Love Bad Boys.. It amazed me that it still fit after six years. I was skinnier but still had my curves. I put my hand on my stomach remembering my kids...that's still weird to say. I am 18 and have two kids already. My phone rang out loud and I cursed under my breath for forgetting to silence it. I quickly take my phone out of my denim mid-rise flared jeans and answered it.

"Hello?" I say as I put my left hand in my back pocket and look at my posters. One by one and just when I got to a poster of Ross he said something in my phone. A few years ago I would be fan girling...a lot.

"Hey babe! Where are you? I came to your house but the guys said you weren't there." He sounded like he had some worry in his voice and I smiled as I realized I really do love him.

"Yeah I'm fine I'm at my old house to surprise everyone!" I said really excited, but quiet enough that I wouldn't wake anyone up.

"Oh okay! Well I'll call you tomorrow then! Knowing you you'll be there all day at the least!"

"Hey now you would do the same thing if you were away from your family for almost a year!" I argued while looking at a One Direction poster. Yes I am a Directioner. I have been ever since they were formed back in the X factor in 2010.

"Yeah that's true. Okay you got me!" I walked over to my next poster of Demi.

"That's right I did!" I giggled and heard someone walk around upstairs. "I gotta go someone's up, bye I love you!"

I hung up and walked over to my door I put my hand on the doorknob and froze. I said I love you. I told him I love him. Do I love him? Is it possible for me to love him...again? I sighed and opened my door walking back to the stairs. I peeked in Melvin's room to see he wasn't in there. Maybe he is just doing his nightly routine of walking upstairs and using the restroom. At eight in the morning? No.

I walked upstairs and opened the basement door peeking over the side of the door to the kitchen. I saw five pairs of eyes looking at me like I was a murderer. I smiled and jumped out of the stairs and flew my hands in the air. "Tada!" I screamed.

"CLARA!" They screamed running towards me. Rachel was the first to reach me. She hugged me really tight and I hugged her back. She was so tall! Her long legs were noticeable in her short shorts and her torso was long and skinny. She had a red tight shirt on. Her hair was pulled back into a messy bun on the top of her head leaving two strands of hair on either side of her face. She looked beautiful!

"Rachel I've missed you so much! How are you? Do you have a boyfriend?" I asked as I nudged her side wiggling my eyebrows with a goofy smile on my face.

"What the numchucks?! No!!" she said as she looked at me shocked. But I saw her face, it was our signal. If we needed to talk to the other one alone we would look each other in the eyes and make weird faces. Somehow our parents had never figured this out. I thought it was obvious but I guess since we always make weird faces at each other it's normal. Our snapchats are S-C-A-R-Y!

I winked back at her and bent down picking up Delilah. I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist and spun her around. She's five now, almost the same age as my kids. I think they will get along, I just need to find them and take them back. I want them, I miss them, I need them.

"Hey girlie," I said as I set her back down and knelt to her level and ruffled her hair. "How have you been?"

"Good!" She grinned and I saw that she was missing a couple teeth.

"Where did your teeth go?" I asked poking her toothless smile. She shrugged in reply and skipped back to her room.

"Well, well, look who finally came home. How long has it been?" Owen asked as he slowly walked towards me with his arms crossed and a smirk across his face. I crossed my arms also and scolded him.

"For your information I was only gone for a year." I told him and ran to him pulling him in a hug.

"We missed you so much!" my mom said as she gave me a hug and my dad nodded giving me a hug after her.

"I missed you too," I said.

"Can we go out to eat to celebrate?!" Rachel asked hopefully.

"Clara where do you want to go? there aren't any "posh" restraunts here." My mom said looking at me.

I thought about it for a moment and decided I wanted to go to my favorite restraunt in the world.
