today is a colder day, only in the 70s, but i'm so nervous and it feels as if it's over 100 degrees. inside and outside our medium sized home. as i was getting ready for the long day ahead, i already knew what it would consist of. lots of tears, headaches, and possibly, curse words. today was the day of the hearing which would finalize my parents divorce and decide who would live with who, where.
when i was finished getting ready i ran to my older brothers room. he was dressed up too, but not as fancy. "you know, no matter what, you'll always be my lil sis. and i'll always have your back." says Jacob, tears starting to form in his bright blue eyes. "i know bub, same to you" i quietly said back to him, trying to hold back the tears about to pour out of my very own eyes. he pulled me into a tight hug as our littlest sister, Kayla, walked in and joined. and at that moment, us 3 all knew that we loved each other and would always.
we grabbed hands like we did all the time growing up and walked quickly but silently out the front door and into the van where my mother and father await, looking out each different side window, looking saddened. Kayla only being 6, screamed "SOMEONE TURN THE RADIO ON!" and everyone ignored her, poor baby.
as we pulled into the parking lot hands of me and my siblings were intertwined again and our parents on either side of us. walking into this big business looking building was scary and i knew this was the end of our family. i texted my best friend maddie as we waited to go in to the big room.
me: i'm so nervous... what happens if everything goes completely wrong?
maddie💜💅🏼: it's ok girlfriend! come over after and we'll talk & eat cookie dough & watch netflix
me: ok... thank u so much. love u lots❤️
