Prologue

                It’s such a wonderful day. The sun is out, birds are chirping and everyone seems to be having fun. To add to the wonderful day, I get to see my amazing boyfriend. He asked me to meet him after he gets done at football practice. He told me to meet him at the park but I couldn’t wait that long to see him. So here I am waiting on the bleachers, watching him play. A breeze came and brushed a few strands of my black hair into my icy blue eyes. I played with one of my lip rings, I have snakebites, as the coach dismissed them.

                When Harlen, my boyfriend, got done in the locker room he came out to the bleachers where I still sat. I examined him as he sat down next to me. His blonde hair was still wet from his shower. I could see his muscles flex as he fiddled with his hands. Turning to look at me, his blue eyes stared at me with seriousness.

                “Kaenan, I think we should break up.” He said bluntly.

                I stared at him in shock. Did I hear him right? “Um, what?”

                “We should break up.” He repeated. I searched his face for any sign that he was joking.

                “Why?” I asked raising my voice a little. I couldn’t believe my boyfriend of a year was breaking up with me.

                “I found someone else.”

                “Who?!”

                “You know Kat, right?” I just stared at him so he continued. “Well me and her were hanging out and just clicked.”

                I can’t believe this! He was breaking up with me for a girl. I knew I should have listened to Lana when she said not to date someone who is bi. I felt tears welling up. Harlen put a hand on my shoulder and I shrugged it off.

                “I’m sor—“

                “Just save it.” I interrupted him.

                He sighed and got up. He left me there with my tears, not a single glance back. How could he do this to me?
