Elyza's P.O.V

Teeth. Blood. Death.

That's all I've been seeing lately. So much that I've gotten to the point to where I am use to it. I know it will get worse. As time goes on more of those dead things will come bringing death along with them. I'm surprised I haven't had any nightmares about it. Embracing it and accepting it's reality helped me not turn insane.

I search a kitchen thoroughly, any type of food or supplies will make my day. It's take up most of my time. Searching. Searching. Searching.

I get on top of the counter so I can see if there is anything on the top of the cabinets. Nothing...

Shit.

I gasp in dispointment. Suddenly, I get chills and look quickly behind me as I hear the sound of the door creak. I silently get down from the counter and grab my knife. The sound of feet being dragged echos around.

I'm not going to use my shotgun because by what I've learned sound attracts more of those things and that is something I don't want to do. What if it's just one of them wondering curiously inside the house? I'm still not going to risk it. I can easily get rid of one with my knife. Not a big deal so, I head closer to where the noise is coming from.

I'm at the edge of the hall. I peak into the room. I was correct, it is one of them. It has its back turned to me. Great. I rush to it and stab my knife into the back of its head. It falls to the floor. I feel like gagging.

A disgusted look is on my face as I leave the room. I grab my stuff and head for the door. All I found here was some caned food. Something is something, better than nothing. I'm going to have myself a nice dinner tonight. All I have left to do is find a safe place to stay before night hits. Maybe I'll do some more traveling and then crash into one of the abandon houses for the night.

I walk outside. I put my bag on my motorcycle to where it won't fall off. I'm about to turn on the engine until...
A scream!

I look to my right rapidly and see a woman being chased out of a house by one of those things. Do I help or do I not? She's a human, I should help! Why am I questioning whether I should help or not? She falls to the floor hard! Adrenaline kicks in me. I get my knife out and quickly run to her.

"Hey!" I shout distracting it from attacking her. Luckily, it turns to me. It growls and it's pace gets faster towards me. I grunt as I stab my knife into its head. All of it's motion stops. Then it falls to the ground.

I look down at the woman, likely around her late thirties or early forties, on the ground breathing heavily. Her eyes filled with fear.

"It's dead. Your safe." I assure.

"I know...thank you." She says back.

I extend my hand, offering her help to get up, and she accepts it. She takes one last heavy breath and then relaxes. She begins to look back at the house. I never knew there was people near me. I feel a sense of anger for myself. They look harmless, not the kind of people to bring trouble but what if they were? I'd be screwed. Note to self, be more aware of who is around you. The dead are not the only ones that are dangerous. Trust issues do help during these times.

"Madison!" A man's voice calls out in panic.

We both turn to the house. A man, about the same age as her, comes out with the utmost worried look on his face.

"Travis!" She calls back to him and rushes to him. They hug each other tightly. I just stand in place quiet.

"Are you alright?" He asks her.

"Yeah I'm fine. What about you?" She asks back.

"I'm okay." He says.

Then, he looks at me. "Who's she?" He asks her.

He looks down at my hand and sees my knife. He positions the woman to stand behind him. I see him reach for the back of his jeans.

"Woah..." I say lifting up my hands because I know exactly what he is going to be pulling out and pointing at me. But then the woman grabs his arm.

"Travis no. She saved me." She tells hm. He relaxes back down and puts his hands back to his sides.

"Are you alone?" He asks me.

"Yup. I'm a lone wolf." I tell him.

"Lone wolf huh." He says back. I give a gesturing smirk but soon fades away. Smiles don't last long these days. I haven't given a real or "happy" smile you may say for a while. A long while....

"Well it was nice knowing ya'll. Good luck." I say and head back to my bike.

I hear both of them whispering loudly behind me. I ignore them but I know what is going to happen then. "Wait!" He calls for me. Yup, I knew it. I turn to face them. They approach me.

"Why won't you come with us. I hear lone wolf's don't last long these days." He says. After a long while of thinking deeply I answer back with a question instead of an answer.

"You don't know me. How can you trust me?" I ask.

"The more the merrier. Come with us." He says.

"I don't know..." I say still doubtful.

"Please. We have gas, food, shelter. I have to repay you somehow for saving..." He says gesturing to the woman, Madison I think is her name. I nod .

After a while of silence I nod my head in agreement. "Okay." I say finally agreeing.

"Great! just follow me." He says. I nod. He gets into his pickup truck and onto the road, I follow him.

We get to a beach. Why are we hear? Eh, still looks nice even though the world is slowly ending. We end up parking the car on the drive way of a really and I mean really nice house. I turn off my bike and get off. Both of them get off their truck and approach me.

"Before I introduce you to the others I think I should introduce myself." He says.

"My name is Travis Manawa and this is my girlfriend Madison Clark." He extends his hand out to me. I shake it and Madison does the same.

"What is your name?" Madison asks.

"I am Elyza Lex. Pleasure to meet you." I say with a smirk.
