Elyza's P.O.V

They walk me down to the beach, into a dock. Where the hell am I? I see dead bodies all over the beach. The waves crash onto the motionless beings. I step closer and get a slight panic run through me. Finally I decide to ask. "Where are we going exactly?"

"We are going no the Abigail." Travis says.

"Abigail?" I ask.

"Its a boat." Madison says.

"Oh." I can't help but to stare at the dead bodies all over the beach. I take back what I said before, on how the beach looks nice.

Madison notices my constant stare at the bodies. "It was a herd of them," she explains and sighs, "that's why we decided to live on the boat for now. Luckily no one died."

"How many people live with you?" I ask curiously.

"Seven." She responds.

"That's a lot of people." I says.

"Their coming our way." Travis says. I turn and look. A boat comes our way.

"Daniel and Victor are not going to be happy to see her. Especially Victor." I hear Travis say to Madison.

"She saved me. I have to repay her somehow." She says to him. "A simple Thank You would have done just fine." He says.

Honestly, that would have been a good thing to do. Why did I agree to come here? I'm an idiot. But these people seem like they have a lot of good shit. I should stick with them, grab some stuff from them, then leave in the middle of the night. I just have to figure out how to get off the boat and get to shore. Swimming isn't an issue.

The boat comes close. Travis helps Madison get on. He offers me a hand but I deny it. "I know how to get on a boat." I say. "Okay then." He responds.

Everyone stays quiet and looks at me strange. "Who is this?" An old man with a Spanish accent says.

"Everyone this is Elyza." Travis says.

Shit, this was a bad idea. Another man gives me a death stare. He's tall and muscular. He steps toward and says, "Travis, Daniel, and I will take a few minutes to speak privately if that's okay." His voice is so deep.

They head their way to a part of the boat where I can't hear them. Madison then speaks, "so this is my son, Nick."

Nick is an odd looking fella but I like it. "This is Chris, Travis' son." He says. He looks at me with an attitude, just like the father. "And this is Ofelia, Daniel's daughter." She just looks at me.

"Where's Alicia?" She asks Nick. He shrugs.

"Alicia!" She calls out.

"I'm coming mom!" A girl's voice replies with an attitude.

My mind goes blank as I see her. She's beautiful...I might be exaggerating but I know beautiful when I see it and she is definitely it.

She stares at me with a frown. "I'm Elyza Lex. Pleasure to meet you." I say approaching her, extending my hand.

She shakes it. "Alicia Clark." She says. Her hands feel cold but smooth. I take a step back with a smirk and look at her. She's about to let a smile come out but Travis and the two other man show up.

"You can stay for the night but tomorrow you leave." Daniel tells my strictly.

"Fair enough. I wasn't planning on staying anyways." I say back.

"Good." He replies.

I look out onto the ocean watching the sun go down. "It's beautiful but then you get tired of it when you see it everyday." A voice says. I turn my head and it's Alicia.

I smile when I see her. "When I see it I try to find something new about it. Something that can remind me to appreciate it." I tell her.

She smiles. "Your not from here are you?" She says to me.

"No I'm from Australia. You can obviously tell by my accent but, " I start doing an American accent, "if you want an American I can be that for you." She giggles.

"Nah the Australian accents suits you. Stick to that." She says. I smile in return.

"So your leaving tomorrow?" She asks.

"Why you want me to stay?" I answer with a question instead. I say it quite cocky too.

She smiles, I hope there's a blush in there too. She turns her head so I can't see. Maybe she did that to hide it.

"We'll see what happens." She says.

She leans against the edge of the boat. Then I notice a drawing on her arm. "What's that?" I say pointing at her arm.

"Oh that's uhh," she pauses and just looks at it. "It's a drawing my boyfriend did before everything fell to shit. His name was Patrick." She says.

"Where is he?" I ask.

"He's dead." She says quickly.

"Oh I'm sorry." I tell her.

"What about you? Do you have anyone?" She asks.

"Yeah I did. I had a girlfriend back in Australia but we broke up because I decided to come here to America. She uhh, I don't know how she is. I worry sometimes. Same with my family. I have no way of getting back home, I don't know what is happening, and I don't know if their okay." I tell her.

"Oh. Good luck." She says then continues, "girlfriend?" She asks.

"Yeah. Girlfriend." I reply.

"That's cool." She says.

I look with her with a smile. She notices, "what?" She says. I shake my head, "nothing." Then we just stand there looking at the sun. I think I'm starting to gain a liking towards Alicia.
