"Today we are randomly going to pick ten people from the crowd. These ten people will be given free, yes you heard me, free VR helmets. Thanks to Mr. Tanaka from Japan, the dream of being able to feel, see, taste, smell, and even hear things as if you're really inside the video game is now a reality. Let's give a round of applause for Mr. Tanaka while he climbs up the stage to give his speech." the host finished his introduction as he led a Japanese man up the stage. The stadium filled with roars and cheers as they saw their idol inventor, Tokashi Tanaka, in a black suit, climb up the stairs.
Mr. Tanaka coughed to silence the crowd, "This has been my dream since I was in my highschool years: to give free consoles to people. You see, when I was a teenager I always wanted to play video games but I couldn't because I didn't have any game consoles. I only went to the arcades." Mr. Tanaka said in his Japanese accent, not able to speak any L's. "But now, that I have made a new invention and the new company that I work in already made enough money to do me a favor, I now present to you! The new Online Virtual Reality Helmet." he said with a flourish. A minute later, a group of men pulled a table up on stage through a ramp, being careful of the materials under a blanket that was stopping people from seeing what was inside.
When the table was fully set in front, the host started to talk again. "Okay guys. Are you ready to see what the VR helmet looks like? Are you ready?" he paused to hear the crowd say scream a very loud "yes". Finally he took off the cloth and heard the audience say a series of oo's and aa's.
He then started to speak, demonstrating how to turn the machine on, "You just have to press this button and viola! It is on. But of course it has only one game because it's new but, more games are still in progress so watch out!" the man gestured at the newly placed helmets in front of him, pointing at buttons and compartments. "Okay, now enough of the chit-chat. Let's start the fun!" the MC gestured to a man off stage. A few seconds later, the same man walked up the stage carrying a spotlight.
"Alright, this spotlight can be moved manually and automatically. I will make the spotlight move on its own. Mr. Tanaka will close his eyes and count to ten then he will tell me if he reached number ten and I will stop this spotlight using this button." he pointed towards a button on top of the machine, "Whoever is under the spotlight gets to receive one of the ten consoles we'll give away. Alright, let's start."
The Japanese inventor started to close his eyes and count to ten. The man beside him turned the spotlight's rotator on. The spotlight started to rotate and also change colors. A few seconds later the Asian man signaled the host to stop the machine. The purple light landed on a very excited looking, red headed girl beside a very astonished four-eyed man.
The MC instantly smirked and said, "Well, well. It's your lucky day. You get to win a console. Please young lady, come up the stage so that we can see that beautiful face of yours."
