Chapter 8: Why?

*3 months later*

Eren's P.O.V.

I woke up this morning just like how I did every other day while Mikasa's still in the hospital, I smelt the scent Mikasa left on her pillow and imagined that it was her... I wish it was just a nightmare-

"Nevermind, I'll find someone like yo-"

Who is freaking calling me so early in the morning? Don't they know I'm depressed?

I looked at the clock on the wall and realized that it was actually almost noon... Whatever, I'm gonna answer the call since it's not that late...

"Hello? This is the hospital. Is this the family of Mikasa Ackerman?"

"Uh... Yes?" Is she okay? Why is the hospital calling me?

"We would like you to come over to the hospital right now."

"Okay... But why?" I replied, my voice shaking

"She woke up." He said bluntly.

Right, be over in 15 minutes. Right after saying that, I took a quick shower in about 2 minutes, getting myself into black jeans and a grey long sleeved shirt, and brushed my teeth in like 30 seconds. After getting ready, I grabbed my phone, wallet and keys and ran to the hospital.

When I arrived, I started panting heavily. I think I lost at least a few pounds. I ran into Mikasa's room immediately. She was sleeping peacefully, I walked up to her and smiled, I was so happy she finally woke up after 3 months. I kissed her forehead lightly then, her hands moved slightly. I just sat there, looking at her flawless face, holding her now warm hands. Just looking at her sleeping makes me calmer. I know I sound like a freak, but maybe that's just how love works.

She finally opened her eyes, she stared at me confusingly for a few seconds. Just when I was about to talk,

"Who are you?"
