In the twenty second century civilization has crumbled from war. From the ashes rose a new society of the survivors, but it is worse than ever before. All but a privileged few live in poverty, clinging to whatever remains in a feeble attempt to survive. Every citizen is governed by strict laws, enforced and created by a monarch, their advisors, and the Legion. The king or queen is called the Leader, to try to hide the injustice from ordinary citizens. However, this does absolutely nothing. The outrage felt by the people only fuels thoughts of rebellion. 17 years ago, in 2151, rebellion spread, so far as to become a close attempt at a coup d'état. Several battles were fought in the country's capital, Pyramus. Ultimately, the insurgents were overtaken by the superior military force of the Legion. Anyone involved was rounded up and executed publicly, as a warning to those who dared to take their place. Their children were left to wander the streets as orphans. The remaining revolutionaries were disheartened and went into hiding, and have remained there ever since.
