I walked into my first period class. My teacher gave a little jump and shoved me to the front of the classroom. "ATTENTION! ATTENTION! I AM INTRODUCING YOU TO THE NEW STUDENT!" she seemed to screech. Everybody turned their eyes to me. "This is Micah Issabelle Baritone. She will be joining our class today. Micah, I am Ms. Gransalus, and this is your language arts class," Ms. Gransalus lead me to an empty table with a tall blonde girl. "We just arranged seats today so you will be able to catch up with Leah," the teacher notioned to the girl sitting alone at the table. I sat down and Ms. Gransalus continued with the lesson. The girl gave me a soft smile. I gave her one of my smiles with one eyebrow raised and nodding a bit. "I'm Leah," she whispered, "AKA, the top student of the class that will help you catch up." I gave her a small nod. "Cool," I said. Leah gave me a skeptical look before turning back to the teacher. She was super tall. About 5"5 and had strawberry blonde hair with stunning pale blue eyes. Her hair was wavy and looked as if it had been professionally done. Her clothes looked designer and her nails probably painted at Hot Style Nails which was a nail salon I had passed by on the way to school. It had cost fifty dollars for both hands to get done and forty-five for feet. But the thing that popped out to me the most was that her skin was soft and perfect and her makeup looked as if she could make it as a model.

The bell rang for lunch and I met up with Claire so we could find ourselves a table. "Hey girlies!!!" I heard a yell from the other side of the room and saw Leah waving her manicured hands at me. "GUH-REAT! We found a seat!" I grabbed Claire's arm and ran up to the fourth tier of the lunch room. Stay cool, I reminded myself as I popular-walked my way to the table. "Guys, this is Micah," Leah introduced me and I sat down. "I'm Allie," another really tall girl with dark brown hair and amber eyes muttered a greeting while looking at a hair dying magazine. "Cool beans, I'm James," I think I had finally noticed that everyone at the table was really tall. "I'm Sean," a boy with dusty blonde hair and gray eyes was picking at some creamed corn. "Hi, you can just call me Mia," I took out my lunch and ate it slowly. Claire stood there awkwardly. "And that's my twin sister, Claire," I shoved her down into the stool and she nearly tripped. A boy with dark brown hair and eyes gave me and Claire a nod. "That's Colin," Leah said. James had lightish brown hair with dark amber eyes. "Did you hear that Serenity got her hair dyed lightish blue," Allie asked, her eyes, slick with makeup, skimming the pages of her magazine. "Puh-lease, she could never pull that off," Leah flipped her hair, then turned to Allie, "Though I bet you could, Al. You have the right facial mold." Sean snorted in amusement. "Serenity is such a wannabe," he snickered. "I dunno. I'm thinking of getting my face done," Allie shrugged. "Like threading the hairs?" Leah asked. "Nah. I was thinking more of plastic surgery. My nose is so lumpy," Claire and I exchanged a look as Allie said this. "Have you gotten anything done to your face, Mia? You have nice cheekbones," Leah noticed. "UGGGGHHHH. You guys bore me with your makeup talk," James nudged Colin who was staring at me. Once he noticed me watching, he quickly turned his head. Sean let out a snort of laughter and started elbowing Colin also. "Uh, no. I've been told enough times that original features are so much better than artificial," I tried to flip my hair but failed terribly. "That's what I keep saying to them!" James shoved me. "Hey guys," Leah notioned her head towards the hallway. "I'm going to go to the bathroom," she said. "SO AM I!" the others screamed in awkward harmony. "Wow, that was interesting," I muttered. "Who gets plastic surgery besides sixty year olds?" Claire questioned. "I dunno. But I'm more into original stuff. Keep what God gave you," I nodded at myself. "Did you see how their face was caked with makeup? AND THEIR CLOTHES! THEY LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING MOTHER WOULD WANT US TO WEAR!!!" Claire almost fell off of her seat. "Play it cool, Claire. We could just make it into their group," I nudged my sister and she nodded and flipped her hair sassily. "Good," I grinned.

I turned over in my bed when I heard my name. It was super dark out and I looked at my door. "Claire?" I whispered. "MIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" the name came again, louder this time now that I was awake. I looked out my window and sure enough, people were outside my house. "Mia, get out here! Come on, get dressed. We're going to have some fun!" Colin yelled. I rushed to my bathroom with a question on my face and had just gotten done taking my pajamas off. I thought about it and stopped midway, grabbing mother's designer clothing that she always picked out for me and Claire. I slipped on the open-back shirt and the short-shorts. Then there were these leather black boots that were actually adorable. I quickly straightened my tangled hair and opened the window so I could crawl out. "Glad you could make it, Mia. It's been ten minutes!" James yelled. I rolled my eyes and blushed a little. "INCOMING!" I yelled, throwing my boots off the roof. The group scattered as I started climbing down the grape vines. "Impressive!" Leah yelled. I jumped down and dusted myself off. "Your lucky Leah insisted so much in getting you out of your room. We were out here for twenty minutes screeching your name," Allie rolled her eyes. "Ooooh girl, your hair naturally straight?" Leah asked. I nodded nervously, hoping they couldn't notice me lying. "It's cute," Colin commented. "Thanks," I said, blushing incredulously. "That outfit is so fashion forwards," Leah added. I finally noticed a new girl sitting on a rock. She had dark scarlet hair, blue eyes, and glasses. "Hey, that's Victoria. She was sick today. Victoria, this is Mia," the girl with the red hair nodded at me. "More like on instagram posting selfies and sneaking out the whole day," Sean snickered. "Shut up, Sean! If my parents found out, they'd ground me for sure," the girl got up from her place on the rock. I pulled my boots over my feet and flicked my hair out of my face. "What'd you guys want me for?" I asked. "We're going to have fun!" James grinned. "Woah? Where?" I was sure hoping they wouldn't say a night club. "The forest, dumbo!" Leah exclaimed, speeding off.
