Chapter 2

“We can’t let them do this! We have to go and get him!” Eve’s father said in total panic.

“The Amazons would kill any man who enters their forest uninvited.” Said the captain, blocking the way to the door.

“Then we’ll send my daughter to go and fetch him.”

“But father, he deserves what is coming to him. He broke their laws and must be punished.”

“Silence girl, I am your father and you will do as I say!” He yelled, going completely red in his face.

“Don’t you even care about my safety?”                       

“They will not harm you, if you’re not a threat to them.” The captain reassured her.

“Now go, before those savages hurt your brother.”

“But father…”

“Go!” He yelled.

“Yes father.” She said with a hint of poison in her voice and made her way to the stables to get a horse.

As she entered the forest her heart started to races faster and faster, the deeper in she went.

“Who goes there?” Asked a voice, which came so suddenly and out of nowhere that her heart almost stopped all together.

“My name is Eve; I have come for my brother; whom you arrested.”

“Will you interfere when we punish him?”

She thought about it for a moment; “No.” She answered truthfully.

All of the sudden the bushed moved and out of them emerged a tall woman with long brown hair decorated with raven feathers; “Then I will take you to our village.”

“Thank you.”

“My name is Vanessa.”

“Nice to meet you.” Eve replied politely.

 She followed the strange woman all the way to their village, which was filled with woman training with swords, cleaning weapons and all sorts of other stuff Eve had never seen woman do; “Whoa.” She said awestruck.

“You like what you see?” Vanessa asked with a smile.

“I find it strange.”

“Why?”

“All my life I’ve been taught that women can’t defend themselves and can’t survive without having men to look after them and yet here you all are, a group of women who that men fear.”

“Personally I think that men secretly fear all women, that is why they tell women that they are weak and can’t survive without men.”

“But we aren’t as strong as men.”

“We don’t need to be, we are much stronger.”

“Clearly.”

“There is your brother.” She said pointing to her brother who was locked in a wooden headlock.

“Eve get me out of here!” He demanded.

“How do you propose I do that?” She asked annoyed.

“I don’t care just get me out of here you worthless girl.” As he said it the Amazon slapped him in the face.

“On our land you do not speak to a woman like that, you treat her like an equal and with respect.”
