"Hey, so are you still staying tonight?" Sophia, my best friend asks over the phone. "Yeah. Course." I answer. "Great!!" Sophia excitedly says. "I have to go now, So-So. I'll see you at six, have extra popcorn please!!" I heard Sophia's soft goodbye and her giggles as I hung up. Somebody cleared their throat and I looked up. "Yes, Malak? Are you getting sick?" I asked my brother. He snorted and laughed, replying, "Nah, but I am doing this!" He reached forward, to me, restraining me in a headlock. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" I repeatedly yelled. Malak laughed harder. "You're 18 in 5 months, you shouldn't be acting like you're 14!!" I kicked him in the shin. Malak released his firm grasp on my neck and stumbled back. "Shit! I am 18 soon! I haven't got plans or anything!! I'm calling Xavier!" Malak walked off and I stretched my neck.. "Ow!" I groaned.
The clock hit 5:47. "Muuuum!!" I called, "I need to go now!!" Mum rushed down stairs and offered me a ride to Sophia's place. As mum halted the car into Sophia's rocky front garden, I hugged her and said bye. Mum drove away as I knocked on Sophia's door. I flinched as she answered it. She was squealing and jumping like she was 6! "Yes!! You're finally here!!!" Her shoulder-length curls were bouncing as she jumped. She hugged me and I hugged her back.
