Later in the afternoon Cassidy sat with Haru in the middle of the practice field. Haru leisurely brushed one of her tails as he spoke. "The best way to understand the element of fire is to understand the...passion that all ayakashi possess, particularly kistune."

Before she could blink Cassidy was in Haru's embrace with his lips locked onto hers. A light blue aura appeared formed around Cassidy and began to pulse lightly as Haru's own was nowhere to be seen. Haru pushed her harshly onto the ground when Kat unwrapped from Cassidy's waste and shoved Haru back. Kat slapped Haru's cheek as Cassidy caught her breath.

It was only a few kisses, but it was enough to understand the fire within that made the Kitsunebi respond to a kitsune's request for aid. A large number of Kitsunebi began to show around her creating a barrier Cassidy so solid that it blocked Haru from approaching her again. The soft blue flames were warm to the touch, but their flames began to shift from blue to yellow to red and back to green. The barrier held strong for about five minutes before Cassidy heard Haru speak.

Haru had a bright bruise on his cheek, but smiled at the memory of claiming his mate's first kiss as an ayakashi. The moment their lips meet he didn't want to share her with anyone, "You will be mine, Princess." He spoke aloud so that she might hear, but the barrier around her was enough to block out everything.

Cassidy watch the barrier fade as quickly as it formed. She saw the irritation in Haru's eyes. "Do they always do that?" She asked curiously.

"All ayakashi abilities start with our emotions. They feel what we feel. Love, hate, fear, anxiety. The first step to controlling your abilities is to control your emotions. Kat can only help you so much." While he spoke a large number of Kitsunebi began to light in his hand. "I never lost control like this until you were awakened."

"What do you mean? What hot-blooded kitsune would be able to control their emotions so well? Even humans aren't capable of that feat."

"I..." Haru stuttered as the Kitsunebi turned yellow before fading again, "Okay, so perhaps I'm not that perfect."

"It's okay. I never cared for anyone who called themselves perfect anyway." Cassidy looked around the field. "Isn't it also called fox fire?"

"That is one word for it. I want you to try something. Direct what Kitsunebi you can at one of the targets." Haru explained forming a consistent flame in the palm of his left hand. He slipped behind her and took her left hand into his. "I'll help you this time. Focus on drawing the Kitsunebi to your will."

Cassidy closed her eyes and the flame grew triple the size. When she opened her eyes Haru pushed the Kitsunebi forward to incinerate the one of the targets. Haru's body close to hers was actually comforting, so much she didn't realize that her aura was growing.

Kat, however didn't miss a beat as it pushed Haru back once the exercise was completed. Cassidy was getting used to the tug at her waist a little at a time. "Overgrown Chastity Belt..." Haru said under his breath as he moved back to Cassidy's side.

"That overgrown chastity belt is the only thing keeping my kimono on, so stop it." Cassidy scoffed. "Can I try without your help?"

"Fine. Whenever you think you're ready, princess." Haru's tone turned sarcastic to show his irritation. "Way to ruin the fun Kat." He scoffed and watched Cassidy.

                 

Cassidy formed a small ball of foxfire and took a deep breath. She picked a target, but the moment she propelled the foxfire forward it began to grow and hit all of the targets instead. The blue foxfire faded after it hit the targets.

            "Unfocused, but effective. What were you thinking about when you propelled it forward?"
