Once I climbed all the steps to the paved streets, I began to wander aimlessly. I didn't know where I was or where I was going, I just felt that I needed to go in that direction. I listened to what people would say and found out interesting things. I found out that the town was called Traverse Town, that there were dark things called heartless, and the topic of a boy named Sora. I didn't hear much about this Sora, but from what I learned was that he was helping beat back these monsters. I turned into an ally and ran into a cloaked figure. The figure stumbled backward and looked around till their eyes fell on me. I decided to pretend that I didn't see the figure, he or she gave me the chills, a foreboding aura around them. " I wonder if I can find a place to rest, I cant walk much longer." I murmurred looking around for a post board. I wandered forward, the figure followed silently trying to stay hidden. I went out into a square where a fountain splashed clear as crystal water. I went to it and looked into the water, a face with light sea glass eyes peered back. Saphire blue hair with light violet red streaks fell around the face and lightly touched the water. I decided to look away when a girl with black hair walked over.
"Hello." she greeted, her lips curved upwards. "Hello?" I answered eyeing her. She walked over and asked, "You don't look like your from around here. Are you lost?" I looked at her with questioning eyes, "What is lost?" The look in her eyes clouded then became clear, she came closer taking my hand and said, "You should come with me, I can help you." I looked at her then let my eyes move to where the figure watched out of the girls view. "Okay...I guess." I answered letting her drag me to where ever she was taking me. We walked down several streets before we came to a large house. "Come in, Leon can help you I promise." She said opening the door. I passed through the threshold and felt at home almost immediatly. Inside a man with silver hair and blue eyes sitting in a chair, reading on a computer. "Cid? Can you help this girl?" the girl asked walking up behind him. "Who is it Yuffie?" Cid asked in answer turning to face us. Cid looked away and straight at me. His eyes glinted with a deep knowing. "Come here, I'm no going to hurt you. Just led good old Cid here help ya out." He said. I stepped forward attentativly and joined Yuffie. "Pull her up a chair and I will run the program." Cid explained turning back to the computer and opening up a file. "Here sit," She said pulling a stool to my back. I sat down and allowed Cid to hook up little things to my arms and face. "Yuffie, place a monitor on her heart please." Cid said turning away. Yuffie just laughed and placed a little monitor sticker over where my heart was. The screen pinged and I watched the screen begin to beep consecutivly, "Her heart rate is good, she is very healthy which is another good sign." Cid said. "Yes, but how old is she?" Yuffie asked. Cid smiled and asked, "Cant you tell her yourself miss?"
I looked at him as if he thought I was lying, "I don't remember Cid sir." Cid smiled and fired off another program. I felt my eyes become drawn to the screen, little colors flitted around the screen till I fell into darkness. "Follow the light and your memory will unlock." Cids voice whispered. I found a small gold light in the epicenter of my mind, then the light became larger till it engulfed me completely. I saw Sora being born and the others joining. Then the day when the darkness names Ansem awakened and Kingdom Hearts awoke as well. I saw my body materialize within kingdom hearts and fall like a star to earth below. "Your name is Dawn, you are the Heart." A voice whispered before I opened my eyes to Cids blank computer screen. "So your name is Dawn huh?" Yuffie asked smiling. I returned her expression and nodded. "So you need a place to stay or can you find a place on your own?" Cid asked taking off the readers. I shook my head, "No, I can find a place on my own now that my memories are restored." I walked to the door, thanked Yuffie and Cid before walking back out into the world.
I stopped at the fountain again and stared into the water. I saw the glowing heart and then me materialize in the water. I moved my fingers over the water, making the image disappear. "Well hello miss." someone said from the other side of the fountain. I quickly straightened up and saw the hooded figure. Amber eyes flashed with amusement, this person was looking for something. "Hello sir?" I answered ending in a question. The figure chuckled and removed his hood, silver hair that hung mid-back. "My name is Xemnes, have you seen anyone with special powers lately?" He asked. I backed away and shook my head no. Xemnas smiled and came closer, then silver things materialized infront of me. I screamed and took off down the closest road. I didn't even hear the things chase me, but one of them grabbed me. I felt my heart pounding in my chest, I felt something calling me and willed it to come forward. A whip lashed out at the things making them back off, I looked at it for only a second before taking off once more, whipping anything that came too close. I got to the train station and waited for the next train, the things never showed up. I sighed in relief and boarded the train, reading the little glowing sign saying, "To Twilight Town."
I dont know how long the train took to get to Twilight Town, but I was just gald to have escaped the man called Xemnas. I wandered the streets till I found this small ice cream shop. "How can I help you?" the shop keeper asked smiling. "umm...sorry I dont have any money." I answered smiling sadly. The man smiled and handed me a blue ice cream, "Just tell me what you think." I took the ice cream and bit off the top. The sweetness filled my mouth with a strong taste of sea salt, but it was really good. "Oh this is good. Sweet, but Salty." I said smiling appreciativly. "Thats good!" He said grinning. "I was wondering, do you know where I can find a house or apartment?" I asked eyeing the man. "Yes actually. If you go to the message board you will find adds for tenants, there is one that is open that requires you to have a special talent and entertain a little." He answered. I thanked him for this bit of news and went to find this message board.
The message board wasn't hard to find, it was in a qued and a group of people stood before it. "Hey! Who are you?" a guy with blonde hair and blue eyes said. I looked at him before answering, "My name is Dawn, I'm looking for rental adds." He instantly brightened up, his blue eyes softer. "Well then here is what your lookin for. Just stay outta trouble and I wont hate ya." he said handing me a sheet of paper. I waved good bye and followed the directions to the apartment, there the owner was happy to meet me. "Well I never thought I'd get a fabulous new tenant. There is a room up stairs that has musical instruments, if you learn to play one you can stay for as long as you need." She said smiling. I accepted and entered my new home, but little did I know that I would be found by that man so soon again....
