Chapter 4: ADOPTED

Good evening Sister....... Ratna said you send a search party for me. Sam said as soon as she entered the office in attempt to lighten the mood and the supposedly wrath coming towards her. Yes I did.... came a clipped reply,where where you this morning and afternoon the sun is already down. You gave me a scare young lady. Sister Tessa was a good woman at heart and she loved Sam very much she knew That Sam went to the cliff almost every Sunday but today she broke one of the rules, it was clearly stated that they were supposed to be in the premises by 6pm that was before the sun sets, nevertheless she could not remain angry at her, sure Sam did feel guilty about it but still cannot come in terms to fell guilty about her trip to her personal heaven.
Without beating much around the bush sister Tessa said straight looking into Sam's eye........... you are adopted , Sam thought she misheard her........what? I am sorry i thought you said i was adopted but sister i am already 16 i would most probably leave the family as soon as i turn 18 which is in 2 years why would someone want to adopt an almost adult girl??? I don't know dear they saw your profile and said they wanted to adopt you, I didn't ask much question cause they are rich and somewhat famous and also i did my research they seemed fine and willing and also i want you to be happy so i thought you would be happy with my decision. Sam paused she didn't want to seem ungrateful but she had her own doubt so she asked, you said they are rich and famous so why would they want to adopt someone from here when they can search in better places she asked the old lady. Sister Tessa looked in the eyes of the girl she smiled lovingly at her and said, dear your not only leaving in one of the best orphanages in the country but you are also smart for your age you are not only a year ahead in your studies but also have other qualities which i just cant count on my fingers. Apart from that you have a heart of gold and believe me child God is seeing everything and he knew too that you deserved it. Sam was in tears when sister Tessa finished her speech. Oh child don't you dare cry the good days are starting for you. You were supposed to fly next month but the family is really excited to meet you so they are coming next weak so you better start packing. OK, Sam said in a small voice, but i have one last question.......don't they have any other child, yes they do, two boys actually but they always wanted to have a girl came a reply from the old woman.
Sam said nothing just a good night and headed towards her room it was not big she shared it with two girls who with time became Sam's best friend. Sam was happy she got adopted but still scared... Would they like her what would happen if they don't and whatnot she was thinking everything through when she remembered she forgot to ask sister Ratna where she will be going oh I'll do it tomorrow she thought and slept thinking she will latter on tell her roomies about her adoption.
The next day when she broke the news to her friends she was surprised to find instead of being happy for her they plain right became rude to her,what did you thought that we should be happy that someone took you in well news flash no one wants you for you, you are not even pretty they would have probably needed a maid and thus took you in.....you shouldn't be surprised though you look like one. Whole day she was thrown same comments by the girls in the orphanage. She was really scared and thought they were most probably right.
Sunday came faster then she thought she was nervous yet excited. Nervous because she didn't know what her fate holds for her but happy cause she knew it couldn't be worse then here it already was as soon as the word got out that she was adopted by a couple in NEW YORK the bullying started not only mentally but also physically she was saddened by the fact that her friends would turn there back on her and that too in such a way.
She was ready to leave,a weak ago she would be sad but now she doesn't feel anything knowing the true colors of her so called friends. Soon she saw a car being parked and a very attractive man came towards her, Hi i am Mark i am here for Samantha he said in a business like tone, that would be me she said shyly,as soon as he looked at her he started smiling like a mad man hi I am Mark you can cal me dad if you like but no force do it when you feel right he said once more smiling at the end.
After Mark completed all the paper works and Sam said her good bye to sister Tessa they sat in the car in a comfortable silence as they went towards the airport Sam thought about all about her past and her struggles she remembered about her friends and then she thought no matter what happens in feature I'll never doubt me cause the first person that should be believed is oneself thinking that she got out of the car with a smile on her face and and a new found confidence she was very surprised to find her adoptive parent own a jet but then sister Tessa did tell her that they were rich just she never thought how much until now the interior was more beautiful and seemed expensive that she was afraid to destroy by scratching it or something. The interior was total white with cream furniture at the back there seemed a door and she knew it was not cockpit As it was downstairs where she already meet the pilot so she assumed it to be washroom. Without any other word she sat on one of the couch making herself comfortable with the window seat. You comfortable? Asked a voice on her right she smiled at marks, yes i am thank you very much for asking me and also for you know.........taking me in and all i always wanted a family she said giving him a small smile. Why didn't any one else came she asked after few minutes,genuinely interested;they were a little busy and i thought it would be more convenient considering long journey and most probably jet lag the next day.
They made small talks it was then she asked, what do you guys do for living? Mark William Walter was not much surprised to know she didn't know, I own a multi billion company and my wife is a fashion designer. Sam was quite impressed by all this but she kept quite and slowly felt herself fading into sleep, if you really want to sleep go in the room you would feel more comfortable said the man she started calling father Sam was excited for her new life scared yes but excited nevertheless.
