"Raime, are you ready to join your friends on the platform?" Mum asked placing her hands on my shoulders. Upon facing the brick wall that led to platform 9 3/4, I was anxious about the year. Seeing Sawyer again, meeting new people, it was all exciting but something was tugging at my concious. Like something was bound to go wrong. "Yes, I believe I am." I replied trying to hide the edge in my voice. Mum wrapped her arms around my shoulders. "I can't believe yo're going to be a 3rd year!" she said as I quickly ducked out from under her grasp and adjusted my shirt. Heart pounding, I began my sprint towards the brick wall. Upon impact, I closed my eyes. I could smell coal burnng my nose. "ALL ABOARD!" I heard the conductor scream as I rustled my bags through the door. "I love you, Raime!" Have a wonderful year!" Mum yelled with tears in her eyes as the train pulled out of the station. All the compartments were full with teenagers eating chocolate frogs and casting spells with their wands to impress their friends. Unable to find a farmiliar face, I settled with the last car in the back of the train. I finally settled down with my sketchpad and a few chocolate frogs when I heard a voice. "Mind if I join you?" I looked up to see a handom boy with jet black hair and piercing blue eyes staring down at me. "Oh, uh...not at all!" I fumbled for words. "I'm Raime by the way." I finished. "I like that name." the boy smiled. "I'm James, James Potter." His last name caught me off guard. "Wait, you're Harry Potter's son?" "Yeah..." he replied looking quite embarrassed. "Oh wow." I continued. "I'm surprised I havent met you before. This is your 3rd year right?" "Sure is. I guess I dont take after my father being in the lime light and all. I'm more..." "yes?" I promted him. "reserved." he finshed. "Oh." "So tell me about yourself. I havent seen you around much either. Gryffindor right?" And soon our conversation was flowing naturally. we talked about everything from my 11th birthday and his fathers triumph over the dark lord years back. I had begun to notice more distincted features about him too. The way a vein in his neck popped a little when he laughed or how his eyes got tiny wrinkles by them when he smiled... "What?" I snapped back to reality. "Oh...uhhh..." "Hey! There you are! I was worried you missed the train!" Kendall burst in the car saving me the awkward situation. After quickly glancing between the two of us, her smile grew into a smirk and she continued. "We're getting close to school. Maybe you two should change?" then she quickly left. "Who was that?" James asked curiously. "Kendall. She's a 4th year." I answered. "Oh. Well, we should change then." I turned to get my robe and sweater and James did the same. "Promise you'll come back to sit with me?" James suddenly pleaded, mischief dancing in his eyes. He was inches from my face. "Sure, of course I will, James." "good." he answered. Before I knew what was happening James swooped in and pecked me on the cheek. And just like that he was gone. I stood where I was, dumbfounded.
