After that school day I began seeing Brad as a different person. I knew I didn't want a boyfriend, but was it too bad to crush? I finally saw how beautiful his light blue eyes were and how well it went with his too long black hair and pale skin. He had a well toned body and stood at about 6'3. He was definitely something to look at. Then I remembered something and stopped dead in my tracks.
"Leora?" He called but i barely heard him. I was too busy remembering that HE was the reason I was now a monster. A blood sucking bone snapping monster! The thought made my blood curdle and I felt nauceous at the thought of drinking blood. "Leora. Come on." He said again. I snapped out of my trance and let him lead me to my room. Once there I saw some short girl with dirty blonde hair and an awkward stance standing outside my door.
"Yes?" I asked sizing her up and down.
"Uh. Th-the headmi-mistress wants to see you." She stuttered.
I looked to Brad but he only shrugged and looked back at the awkward little girl in front of us. "Am I supposed to follow you or something?" I asked her. She just started walking but I took that as a yes and started following. I noticed Brad following behind us but felt it would be best if I just let him be for now. I definitely didn't want to cause any scenes my first week of school.
The girl didn't talk to me the whole way there and when we got there she just stammered a goodbye and hurried out. I looked to Brad for guidance but he only shrugged so I sighed and made my way to the front desk where I was greeted by an administrator with a fake smile and bright red lips.
"Leora?" She asked. I only nodded my head and she gestured to a door behind her. Me and Brad made our way to the door and walked in. There she was. The headmistress looking very intimidating. I cleared my throat and she looked up.
"Oh Leora. How nice of you to join me. Won't you sit down?" I gave her a weird look at her use of language but sat down anyways. "I have called you here to ask about your room. Is it fitting?" I just nodded my head and she smiled. She scared me a little.
"Why did you really want her?" Brad asked making me jumo. I had almost forgotten he was there. The headmistress just shrugged and smiled.
"I wanted to give her this." She handed me a silver bracelet. "Your mother dropped it off. Says it's a family heirloom. She wanted you to have it."
I took the bracelet and fingered the little rhinestones encrusted in the sleek silver. "Um thanks? Can we go now?" The headmistress looked dissapointed but nodded her head and gestured for the door. Me and Brad left and went to my room.
"That was... odd." I finally said. "I think something is up with her." I looked to Brad but he started laughing. "It's not funny." I gave him what I had hoped was the stink eye but it only caused him to laugh more.
"She's just a weird lady." He said when he managed to contain his spazzing. "Don't let her get to you." I just nodded my head and we said our goodbyes. He left in the opposite direction and I stared at him until his dark figure was gone. I sighed and walked inside my room and layed down on the bed. I new something was up with the headmistress... I just needed to figure it out.
