"Daaaayum, gurl, shake dat ass over here!"

"Woah, swing them hips!"

Líli rushed past the group of 8th grade boys and to the semi-safety of her small cluster of friends.

"Ugh, them again? Seriously? Grow up." Brigida rolled her eyes, and rubbed Líli's shoulder.

"I swear, every day. Why won't they just leave me alone?"

Kaytlyn looked over from her locker. "I nearly punched Jack the other day, they are so annoying. Guys, here comes Kevin!"

Kevin was the most handsome guy in the school. All of the girls seemed to fall at his feet. Líli never got what was so wonderful about him. Yeah, he had nice hair, and she guessed his eyes were kind of pretty, but why would you spend so much time pouring your soul into someone who you could never get?

He marched past the group of girls and Kaytlyn practically swooned.

"Pull yourself together, Gurl," Brigida laughed.

"I'm going to see if I can say hi." Kaytlyn ran after him to join the swarm of girls following at his heels.

"She's crazy."

"Hey, sexy ladies, whacha doin' tonight? Wanna come out with me and my bros?" A boy walked up to the two girls and put his hand on the wall by Brigida's head.

Líli's gut roared with flaming hatred

"No, Tyler. Go away," Brigida said, glaring at him.

His hand slid down the wall, to Brigida's hip. "Come on, sweet cheeks." He shifted closer to her. Brigida looked intimidated at how tall he was, compared to her own short frame.

"Get off of her!" Líli shoved him and put herself between their bodies. "Leave her alone!"

"Woah, woah, honey, I didn't mean any harm." He grinned and leaned in to her ear. "Are you jealous?"

~Twenty minutes later~

"Yes, I do appreciate it, but you can't just do that!" She had stopped in the doorway to the hall.

"What did you expect me to do?!" Líli rolled her eyes. She still smelled like Sister Morgan's terrible thurible.

"Not punch him, Líli!"

"Brigida. You know me. He was harassing you. I could tell you hated it."

"Of course I did, but you shouldn't have punched him."

"Oh well. I'll be suspended for a day, it'll be fine. It doesn't matter."

"Yes it does, we just missed half of first period, and you have a suspension. I know you just want to protect me, but seriously, chill."

"I am sorry."

They turned and walked down the hall, away from the principal's office.

"But it was pretty damn cool," Brigida admitted, with a sheepish grin.

"Yeah. It felt so good, I hope I broke his nose.
