Chapter 1
*Ava's P.O.V.*
"MOM, I AM NOT LEAVING THIS TOWN AND ALL OF MY FRIENDS! I LOVE IT HERE!" At this point I was screaming at my mom. Sydney is the only place I could be happy and now my mom is going to take that away from me? I mean, I know I would still be in Australia, but Melbourne just wouldn't be the same.
"I'm sorry honey, but it's already said and done. We are moving to Melbourne for my job and that's final." She replied sternly. I rolled my eyes and stomped up the stairs to my room leaving the last thing I heard: a sigh from mom.
I am supposed to be packing, but I am physically incapable. Ever since I rampaged into my room I have been crying uncontrollably. I may sound like I'm being a little over-the-top and ridiculous, but I have had no other house or even room for 16 years. This town and house will always be the beholder of the greatest memories I've had. All of my friends are here and now I'd be moving 9 hours away from them. Making new friends has always been a challenge for me, with my social anxiety, but my true friends accept me and they will be hard to replace.
After about 10 minutes of laying on my bed I heard a knock on my door. "Leave me alone!" I snapped, unwilling to talk to anyone.
"I need to talk to you, Ava." It was my mom again. She slowly opened the door and sat next to me on my bed. "Look, I know this is in the least of your favors and it will be hard to move to another town, I get it. But you need to look at the big picture here. We are struggling right now ever since your father died. It's been hard on the both of us. But when there is an offer for a promotion, I have to take it even if it does mean moving away from home." She had the most sincere tone. My mom was completely right and I'm just being selfish. Ever since my dad died 2 years ago from a heart attack it has been extremely rough.
"Okay, mom. I understand." I said with a sincere, but small smile.
"That's great honey. Now get packing." She replied. She gave me a light pat on my back then left the room. This was going to be a long week of packing.
