Chens POV

What?

Mother?

I shook my head, chuckling. "That's not funny." I turned back to my mother."Omma, seriously, that's not funny."

"I am not your Omma" she snapped, staring me dead in the face.

What was this sick joke?

"Omma I-" I reached out to her and she stepped back.

"I'm not your mother!" She repeated, shouting at me.

"Wha-what's happening?" I asked helplessly.

I glanced at Reum, who shrugged. She didn't know either. Was this all a joke?

I tried brushing it off again. "Come on you guys, its not funny." I looked at Omma again, smiling with my arms outstretched before me. "Okay Omma. You half got me. Well played. Top marks for consistency."

"Stop calling me Omma." She snarled, stepping back.

What the hell.

"You can stop it now." I tried again. If this was a sick plan, it wasn't working.

"Chen.." Reum's small voice caught my attention. I looked at her and she looked dead serious as she glanced back and forth between her mother and my own. "Chen.. I think they're being serious." She whispered, looking me in the eye.

"Seriously? Reum are you part of this too?" I fought back laughter. So she was part of the joke!

"We're not joking." Her mother confirmed, staring at me gravely. I could see the longing in her eyes.

"Bu-" I tried to speak. But I couldn't. I was genuinely stumped.

"Shall I- explain?" Reum's mother coughed.

I nodded my head slowly. This would be good to hear.

"First of all... You are my son." She started, her eyes glazed over and shined. I just looked at her and waited.

"I gave birth to you a year before your sister here." She gestured to Reum who stood with her mouth open. "Ah Reum is your sister. And you are my son."

"Your aunt, my sister, had tried giving birth numerous times but she has a condition where she lacks the hormones needed to support a baby." She glanced at her sister who stood with her head bowed low and took in a deep breath.

"I gave you to her." She looked down at her hands. Her voice shook a little as she spoke. "I gave you to her because she couldn't have kids of her own." She wiped a tear and breathed in heavily.

"When you turned 5, I gave her the instruction to tell you about me." She looked up again, her eyes wet and a glare directed at her sister. "I specifically told her to tell you, you were mine and if you wanted you could return to me." I glanced at my mother, who stood shaking in the corner as she was accused. She wasn't denying any of it.

"I even told her to tell you again when you reached 15, so you would be more conscious of making your own devisions...but she didn't, did she? She didn't tell you." Reum's mother looked at me and I shook my was automatically. This was the first I was hearing this bizarre story.

"We even met once. You met Reum and me quite boldly." She laughed humourlessly and looked up at me again. "At the beach. You and your sister met for the first time." She glanced behind me at Reum again then glared at her sister.

"I asked your aunt whether or not she told you and she said yes."

"She said she had and you refused to acknowledge that I was your mother. She warned me that you brushed it off as a joke and didn't believe a word. So she suggested something."

In the corner, my mother made a welping noise and sunk down onto the floor.

"She told me the best way to solve this was for you and your sister to never meet. You didn't want us in your life and your aunt advised us to go and she promised she'd try telling you again when you reached 17. She didn't did she?... She didn't tell you?"

Again I shook my head.

"I thought so. However nonetheless I rang her again, asking if you had changed your mind and she said no. You were pretty adamant when she had brought it up to you. You didn't want anything to do with us."

"So I kept you and Reum separated and made myself a promise. I decided I'd wait for you. I'd wait to see if you changed your mind. But you didn't."

"I never got to see you grow into the handsome man you are now. I gave that job away to my sister because I gave that decision to you to make. I prayed that sooner or later you'd change your mind about us but you didn't."

"Me coming here was to see if you had changed your mind. That and I had a strong negative feeling about whether or not you even knew the truth. That's why I came so suddenly. That's why I visited and your aunt lied again."

"When I arrived she told me you had moved to America with your friends to study there. Again the negative feeling hit me hard. I knew something was wrong. And that was only confirmed when my sister received a call from you saying you'd be landing in Busan really soon. This is how we got to this point." She exhaled finally and sat back in her bed. "She couldn't deny it any further and when I saw you... I knew."

"You are my son, Kim Jongdae." She whispered.

I didn't know what to say.

"Omma. Is this true?" I turned to my mother hunched in the corner and noticed Reums mothers face dropped.

"I'm sorry." She whispered back, hugging her knees into her chest as she sobbed uncontrollably.

"So it's true?" I asked.

I couldn't believe it. Not even for a second.

"I'm sorry." She whispered again, her voice cracking under the many broken sobs.

I couldn't take it.

20 years of anger exploded within me. Like a raging fire I felt myself shake with fury.

I wanted answers. Now.

"Why?" I shouted. "Omma.. Wait no." I shook my head."I don't even know what to call you anymore." I roared at my mother. I had never been so heated in my life. Nor had I ever been so struck between two conflicting emotions. I was both blinded by anger and tipping with confusion.

"Believe me I wanted to tell you. It hurts everytime you call me Omma. A part of me breaks" she weeped, shaking as she held her hand to her chest, broken sobs escaped her lips. I immediatley felt a wave of sympathy.

"Why didn't you say anything?" I whimpered the anger disappearing gradually. "Why, Om-ma?" my voice cracked as I fought back tears. "Why?" I sunk to the ground and just sobbed. Finally giving up, i sat slumped on the floor with my head in my hands.

Everything was a lie.

I heard Omma get up off the floor and run into me. She hugged me into her chest and stroked my head, whispering to me.

"I'm sorry." She whispered repeatedly. "I'm so sorry." She stroked my head and cried with me.

A/N:

I wanted to write more but, I really wanted to close this part of the storyline up. I don't want to drag their relationship on tooooo much. Otherwise it'll turn into a story of its own, that's why I tried explaining up ^ there. I tried doing it so theres no loose ends.

Chen'll be really useful soon and so will his relationship to Ah Reum.

Please anticipate ^_^
