Jason and Samantha didn't know what to expect. They had heard the rumors, but now they seemed more like the truth. As they drifted closer to the shore, Jason opened his journal. Flipping through the pages furiously until finally coming upon the page he needed. Scribbled at the top of the left hand side, crumpled close together, read the words:
"God creates Dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs, God creates Man, Man destroys God, Man creates Dinosaurs."
Samantha looked at him curiously. Her blonde hair sleeked back into a tight pony tail with a brown hair tie holding it in place. She slipped on her brown jacket over her navy blue shirt, and gripped onto her bag. She flung it over her shoulder as they reached the shore.
Jason jumped once he felt the sudden crash on the wet sand. He shut the journal and put it into his front pocket, and hopped off the canoe.
They had been drifting for about seventeen days, waiting for their dumb luck to pay off. Samantha walked ahead of him and headed towards the tree line. Jason followed behind, slipping every now and then in his boots.
"Samantha, what do you think we will find..?"
His voice trembled slightly. She glanced over her shoulder at him and shrugged. They kept their pace until reaching the tree lines.
"Listen to me, whatever we find in there could be dangerous, or harmless.. But no matter what, stick close to me."
Jason nodded his head at Samantha as they pushed open a set of gates connected to an electric fence.
"Must be the perimeter fence.."
Said Samantha in a rather stern and hushed voice. They started to go to pick up into a light jog that Jason could hardly keep up with. After about ten to eleven minutes they came across a stone building. About twenty five meters wide and fourteen meters long. There was wiring at the top, but it was torn through. Bent in so many directions that you couldn't follow along.
"What.. What is this?" Said Jason nervously.
"I believe, this is just a guess.. I believe that to be the Raptor Compound."
"Y-You mean a velociraptor?..!"
"Yes."
Her voice echoed into Jasons ear drums, making him stare at the bent wiring and getting very, very worried. They kept their journey and didn't stop. The passed multiple fences but chose to ignore them.
They focused on getting to the visitor center, that was their best bet. About fifty minutes to an hour passed the Raptor compound, they found a small gray shed. Samantha busted the door open and looked around quickly and carefully. Her eyes locked onto a map of the park.
"Jason, get the sharpie out of the front pouch of the bag, and if you need one, get a water bottle as well."
He did as requested upon, and indeed, grabbed the bottle of water. The marker was transferred from Jason to Samantha. She started to use her necklace compass to decipher their location, while Jason drank away at the water, taking breaks to breathe.
"We are at a park shed, one of about thirteen. They are scattered about the park, in random locations. Near different dinosaur exhibits. Ours is near the T-Rex paddock.."
"T-Rex.. Did you just say T-Rex?!"
"Yes, don't worry about it though, at this point he isn't anywhere near his paddock."
Jason tried brushing it off as if it was nothing. But he couldn't shakes the feeling there was something watching. Samantha marked the direction they would take (south west) to reach the visitor center in roughly, twenty minutes.

The walk there was straight forward, and rather quiet. They hadn't seen any dinosaurs yet. But Jason was convinced he saw a raptor staring at him across the path. Nothing too exciting for the journey so far. Once they reached the big white building, they slipped through the doors quietly.
They slipped up the stairs and down the corridor until they reached a T. They took the left side and reached the control room. They tried pushing the door open but it was locked. A few meters away was a broken window, Samantha climbed through it slowly and carefully. But Jason refuses to follow.
"Come on Jason! You've gotta get through!"
"NO! I could die in there, what if there's, a, a, Raptor..?!"
Samantha noticed a shotgun on the floor. Blankly, she picked it up and displayed it for Jason.
"Then I'll protect you."
A blanket of comfort warmed up Jason as he climbed into the window. Once on the other side he sat down at a computer. The monitor read Computer data reboot: press one to start. Jason slammed his finger into the key with a 1 on it, then the words rolled off his tongue with ease.
"Let's bring it back online."
