The one who had cleared her throat was a woman standing behind a podium on stage. She wore an old and rather ugly burgundy business suit. Her brown hair was braided and wrapped into a bun, complementing her outfit. With her makeup, she ultimately looked professional.
Behind her were a line of chairs, Caleb could only assume they were teachers. They were all dressed professionally, with their backs straight and hands folded neatly in their laps.
"Please take your seats so we can begin orientation!" The woman at the podium instructed. Everyone who was still standing up took their seats, leaving Caleb and the other two the only ones left standing
The girl suddenly grabbed both of their wrists and directed them to the nearest row of chairs. The girl sat in the middle, on Caleb's right. Caleb's gaze lingered on the two for aa moment before looking back at the woman on the stage.
"Now, I would like to formally welcome you to Briarwood Academy."
A chill shot up Caleb's back. Something... wasn't right...
"From now on, this will be your permenate residence. You will cut all your ties with anyone and everyone from the outside world. This school and all it has to offer will be your world now. Think of it as somewhat of a safe haven. Myself, along with my fellow instructors will be your supervisors."
Caleb shot out of his seat, along with a few other students. This was all a big joke. There was no way he could spend the rest of his life here. The woman on stage frowned.
"Now now, no need to get worked up. I know you are all concerned about family members and friends. Just think of your fellow students as your new family, and we, your friends." She gave a cruel smile. "If you ever in need of assistance, you could always consult a club member. Or simply call on one of us! As I am your principal, I will most likely available. My name is Amelia Young and I hope you all have a nice day."
Caleb opened his mouth to object when suddenly, the lights started to flicker. The last thing Caleb saw was Principal Young's cruel smile before she vanished, along with the rest of the teachers.
