Dustin's voice pierced the air like glass shattering. "What the hell is this?" He hurled his plate, a chaotic explosion of food that landed at my feet.I knelt down, my heart racing as I scrambled to gather the pieces. "Baby, it's the food you asked for," I said, fighting to keep my voice steady amidst the tremor in my chest.
His anger was a tempest, unfurling as he stood over me. "I didn't ask for that shit at all, bitch!"
His words sliced through the room, venomous and cold. "You can never get anything right!
There's always something wrong with you, and I can't stand it!"
"Dustin, you told me to cook that for you!" My desperation bubbled over, fear mingling with indignation. I faced him, trembling but resolute. With a growl, he advanced, his hands grasping my arms, shaking me with a force that stole my breath. "So you want to raise your voice at me?" he spat, his face mere inches from mine, the fury in his eyes blinding.
"No! I wasn't yelling at you. Please, just calm down!" I pleaded, my heart pounding wildly in my chest.
"Don't fucking tell me to calm down, you stupid fucking hoe! Do you hear me?" The thunder of his voice echoed, rattling my bones.Without warning, a slap rang out, sharp and searing. The force sent me crashing to the floor, my cheek ablaze. Dazed, I felt his hand entwine in my hair, yanking me close.
"LET GO, DUSTIN, PLEASE!" My voice broke, a frantic plea mingled with tears. "YOU'RE HURTING ME! PLEASE STOP!"
He lifted me, still holding my hair like a lifeline to his fury. "I SAID, DO YOU FUCKING HEAR ME?"
His breath was hot, and I stared into the abyss of his rage, the darkness swallowing me whole.
"Yes, baby, I hear you," I whispered, feeling small beneath his gaze.
"You better," he warned, his tone a low growl. "Now clean up this mess."
He threw me down, storming out of the room. Just when I thought the chaos had left, he returned, fury personified. A kick landed against my head, and pain exploded in my skull. My vision blurred, the world spinning away as I surrendered to the darkness.---**(Hours Later)**Awakening was a fog, disorientation wrapping around me like a heavy blanket. My head throbbed, each pulse a reminder of his violence. Weak and shaken, I stumbled to my feet, gathering the scattered shards of my reality.
I cleaned up the remnants of dinner, each movement a reminder of the torment that lingered in the air. The bathroom mirror reflected a face I barely recognized, bruised and swollen—a haunting reminder of the night's horror. "Why do I let him do this to me?" I murmured, despair clawing at my throat.
I pressed a hot washcloth against my face, hoping for relief. Just then, the bedroom door creaked open, and dread twisted in my stomach. His shadow loomed closer.
"I'm going out. Don't wait for me," he said, his tone dismissive.
"But..." I began, but he cut me off.
"But... ugh what?" he snarled, his anger palpable.
"Nothing. Have fun and be safe," I forced a smile, though dread pooled in my stomach.
"Yeah, whatever," he laughed, a harsh sound as he walked away.
Relief washed over me as I heard the front door slam shut. Cautiously, I emerged from my hiding place, ensuring he was truly gone. "Yes! Thank God he's gone..." I sighed, though anxiety still gripped my heart.
