"Ah"

A group of people all stood round me with rifles pointing straight at my chest. Thinking carefully about how to make it out alive I reach for the swords strapped to my back.

"Don't move." One of the men said. "If you move at all, we will not hesitate in putting so many holes in you, there will be no difference between you and Swiss cheese."

I looked at the man brave enough to speak down on me. "So on whose authority have you come to kill me?" I started to walk towards the ridiculously short man trying to be as commanding as possible, the resultant effect? He was terrified.

"I... umm... it was the Nya."

"Are you not supposed to call me by my rank corporal?"

"Sorry Sir but under the circumstances I should be giving the orders." A brave shine flashed in his eyes and he raised his rifle to my chest. The muzzle of the gun pressed sharp into my sternum.

He stared deep into my eyes looking for a response. My own eyes flashed and shadows flooded out of my feet and covered the ground. The soldiers looked around scared, expecting an attack from the shadows that leaked into every crevice and that connected all the soldiers to me. There was a patch of ground that still showed underneath the defiant corporal.

My eyes flashed again and the shadows turned sharp piercing all the soldiers pinning them to the swirling shadows that pulsed with delight, they all screamed apart from the terrified little man quaking in front of me. He shifted the rifle and flicked the safety catch back on. I was safe for now.

I grinned and the shadows ripped apart sending bits of soldier everywhere. Delicious. The pure energy of death flowed into me and increased my strength.

"I hope to see you again soon corporal, oh and tell the Nya that he will fall with the rest of his devotees that worship the Vampire King, they all will fall under the power of the monarchy, the monarchy of the sorcerers, not of the dark ones." I try not to laugh at the tears rolling down the soldiers face.

Taking a step back I look around the parade square. I take one final look at the corporal and with a wave of my hand his life force was added to the rest of his troops. A thud echoed as his body hit the ground. I walked away not bothering to look behind me.

A buzz from my phone and I pick up, not bothering to speak.

"Hello? Shade are you there?" my best mate Lightning Raynes stuttered down the phone to me.

"Lightning call the headless to chickerall. They have a little job to do. Be in my office in five if you want a custard cream."

I hang up, "And to discuss Nya." The voice whispers in my mind speaking what I did not want to hear. I sigh and head for the office.
