The golem was making progress to the evacuation center. Kalig was doing the same. He feared that he wouldn't reach it in time. He kept running until he reached the center.

The center was a longhouse filled with living spaces and food. As Kalig went inside, the voices of many people were heard.  The longhouse was filled with people. It seemed like a miracle that they were able to fit in. He had to find his mother.

He scanned the crowd but did not see her. Was she still in the the villages? Then Kalig saw a man giving orders to people and handing out food. This must be the leader. He walked up to him.

He observed the man. He could smell him from all the way over there. He was wearing armor that looked foreign. A small shield on his left hand and a set of curving metal blades connected to his wrist on the right. He looked like a warrior that went through many battles.

"Hey, are you the leader involved?" said Kalig.

The man said "No, the leader simply ditched the place. It was in chaos so I took command."

"The Paoken are attacking us and there seems to be a Paoken golem not far from here." said Kalig. "I suggest preparing for the golem and not evacuating as this place holds alot of people."

The man looked surprised and then determined.

He said "My name is Gideon Jura, thank you for the warning. You seem to know what is going on. What is your name?"

Kalig then said "Kalig-" Then he noticed that his parents never had last name. He finished saying "I am a royal hunter."

Gideon said "I will start preparing , I hope this isn't the last time we talk."

Kalig set out to find his mother.
He saw his mother on the other side of the longhouse and talked to her.

"Mother, are you okay?"

"Yes Kalig, I was escorted by some soldiers while I was looking for some turkey for your name day. Are you okay?"

Nuren asked this with a mother's worries. Then Kalig said "Yes mother, I am a hunter now." with certainty. Promises checked, he went to go to Gideon.

"Can you go find out the distance between the golem and here is?" asked Gideon.

Kalig nodded and went outside. He climbed a tree and saw the golem was around a kilometer away.     He told Gideon the distance and started to make some arrows. He imbued some of them with a spiky green weft of mana.

Gideon asked "What are you doing?" in a curious sense.

Kalig said "Here in Baltaz, hunters are aligned to green and white mana and using magic to improve their weapons and make use of the environment around them. Like this." as his skin and clothes had the texture and color of the wood planks behind him.

"Where are you from?" asked Kalig because he noticed that Gideon seemed foreign to this place.

"You could say I am from a very far away place."

 "Like?"

"I'd rather not talk about it."

As the golem was nearing about half a kilometer, the soldiers lined up at the front of the longhouse. Kalig fired an arrow with an flare to signal the others. All the soldiers were lined up with bows and arrows. They took aim, Kalig then did the same with a "thorn" arrow as he called it.

 "Fire!" yelled Gideon.

A wall of arrows flew threw the air, not one missing thanks to Kalig's magic. One of the arrows were a green streak in the air. When it struck the golem, the mana started to vibrate and materialize. It growed and started to be like vines. The vines then turned into rock hard thorns that held the golem in place.

Kalig then shot a flurry of ebony tipped arrows at the golem with finesse. He created an angelic wall to stop the golem but let the arrows go through.

Gideon had an idea form in his head. Kalig shot a triad of arrows that had a trail of vines. Kalig then dried the vines. He ordered a pyromancer nearby to set fire to the vines.

Swoosh! The vines went up in flames along with the golem.

The signs of the golem dying were finally appearing. It slowed down and fell.

The golem turned to dust and then crumbled away leaving only a metallic object. There were a couple of scratches on it. Kalig decided that it was nothing.

Kalig heard the voices of victory and saw that people were cheering. Everyone was celebrating. Boom!

A shockwave had been heard out of nowhere almost popping Kalig's ears. There was an explosion and smoke trailing from the grand hall of Baltaz
