The screech-more of a roar, made Kalig turn around swiftly. There was a leopard attacking him. He quickly observed the leopard.
The leopard had scythe shaped blades on it's forearms. Kalig was puzzled, he never saw anything like this in Baltaz.
It pounced on him faster than he can string his bow, the weight crushing his lungs. Really, I am gonna die right here? he thought to himself as he took control of the leylines. The leylines launched the leopard but then rebounded onto Kalig himself.
What? Why is it not obeying me? This was the true power of the roil. The roil was a unique power of the mana from this plane.
The leyline transformed into a humanoid elemental, consisting of the vines from the area. The elemental fought off the leopard before fighting Kalig himself.
Kalig then ran through the jungle area away from the two.
This plane was a plane known as Zendikar to all planeswalkers. The unique thing about Zendikar was of its brand of mana, the roil. The roil affected all terrain on the plane creating things like sinkholes and cragged rocks.
Kalig saw a nearby settlement. It consisted of a large hedron embedded in the terrain. There were people there. As Kalig walked to the settlement, he saw that the people did not look as "normal" as the people in Baltaz.
Kalig observed them as he was walking to the settlement. They had pale white skin and oblong faces. Some of them had hooks around their belts. A couple of them were forging weapons. He realized these must have been natives.
The what seemed to be leader of the group asked, "Who are you? We do not desire a fight."
Kalig was profounded, he had no idea what to say. He had just appeared in a new world and everything was so sudden.
He said "I am Kalig, huntsman. I mean no harm. I would like guidance around this place." with a tilted kind of look on his face.
The "leader" then talked to another person, talking about a general. He then looked at Kalig and said, "We will show you the way; for now, hand in your weapons. One of my Kor servants will take them from you."
Kalig then gave his weapons to the Kor servant that came up. The servant said, "My name is Mara, follow me."
With no objections, he followed her to a tall crag mountain only a kilometer away. She gave Kalig his weapons back and said in a cryptic tone, "You'll need these."
Past the crag mountain that Kalig was on, there was a wasteland larger than Baltaz itself. "What happened?" asked Kalig as he could only think of nothing that could do something this big.
"Long story short, alien creatures outside of this world started to corrupt everything and consume the mana. We fought many battles and lost blood but with the help of the Gatewatch, we continue to thrive." said Mara, then added on "And rebuild."
