Nicole slowly opened her eyes, blinking rapidly. Stars blinded her vision. She quickly sat up, putting her head in between her knees. Her pounding headache made it almost impossible to look up. That's when she realized.
Why am I on the floor?
She decided to look up slowly, taking caution of her throbbing head. She looked around, trying to remember the surroundings, but she didn't. In fact, she's never been in this room before. She got up and stumbled around a little bit. It looked like a normal hotel or apartment room.
Things aren't always as they seem.
It was a round room covered in tan carpet. In the front sat an old, fuzzy TV.
It had crooked antennas sticking out of the top of it. On each side sat dusty and white bookshelves, oddly with no books in them. In the middle was a black table with a creamy candle, unburned. In the very back was a small, red love seat with black pillows. On each side was a dark, wooden table. On the left side was a bright lamp, somewhat too bright to look at that it gave Nicole a migraine the first time she looked at it. On the right were roses in a bowl.
Nicole looked closely at them. They reminded her of a puddle of blood. As she looked closer, she realized they were dripping. Little droplets of the thick substance slid down the pedals one by one. As Nicole went to touch it, a fuzzy voice distracted her. Her heart dropped, and she turned to face the door with wide eyes.
The door slowly opened.
