"What?! Attack?!" I whisper-yelled.
"I'm afraid so Sky." My Mom replied.
"By who?" I asked.
"Crystal Moon." Mom said.
"Crystal Moon..." I repeated. The Crystal Moon pack was the strongest pack in the world. They had just got a new Alpha as the girls said. How could a new Alpha win against us? We were the second strongest pack. We could beat them. They might be the strongest pack in the world, but their Alpha has no experience right? I've heard about their new Alpha before he became Alpha. They say he has no heart. The story goes when he was born his Mother died and he swore revenge against the wolves who killed her. He thought he could trust no one, not even his Father. So, he turned cold, not relying on anyone and eventually not even talking to anyone. All that he knows is to not trust anyone and kill his enemies. And his enemies are anyone he does not trust. And he, Alpha Black, does not trust anyone.
"Come on!" The Luna ushered us. "Everyone, keep quiet please. Follow me." She instructed us. All the women and children followed quietly behind the Luna, Celeste. The only noises were the feet slapping the ground, the children crying and the paws thundering against the ground from above. It was pitch black in the tunnels, except for the burning torch Luna Celeste was holding. I saw Shayna ahead of me in the crowd. I grabbed my Mom's arm and pulled her with me through the crowd to Shayna's side.
"Hey." I whispered.
"Hi." She replied.
I noticed there were a couple tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay." I said giving her a side hug.
"Thanks." She said.
"Okay," Luna Celeste said. "I'm going to open this door and when I tell you to, run as fast as you can into the forest. Shift into your wolves and run to Blue Stone pack's territory. There, you should be safe. Their Alpha will tell you what to do from there. Alright, just wait." She instructed. She opened the door a little and peeked out. The light from the door allowed us to see the tunnels clearly. It was dirty and gross down here. All the women and children's faces were a little tear stained.
"Okay... Three... Two... One... Go!" She yelled and we all stampeded out. I shifted into my wolf making sure Shayna and Mom were with me. Shayna was behind me, but I couldn't find Mom. Then, I saw a flash of her red fur, which reassured me she was there, then I bolted into the forest.
It was a stampede of wolves all through the forest. Wolves on the left, right, behind and in front. Nose to tail, side to side the women and children were running. Suddenly, everyone stopped at the sound of a vicious growl. Who is it? Why did we stop?
The wolves split to the sides making a path through the middle of the crowd. That's when I saw them. There were five wolves standing in front of the crowd, baring their teeth, daring anyone to move. One wolf who radiated dominance, enough to be an Alpha, was walking down the path. I didn't dare look him in the eyes or even at his face. His sleek black fur shone as he trotted down the isle. He was about the walk by me, when he stopped. He sniffed the air once and looked directly at me. I inched closer to Shayna in fear. He growled and towered over me. I leaned towards Shayna, bowing my head, hoping to not aggravate him more.
He sniffed me and picked me up by the scruff of my neck. I felt humiliated and weak hanging from his mouth. I struggled a little, but one growl made me freeze. One of his men shifted and told the rest of the pack they could leave. They all bolted away except for one wolf. Shayna.
'What are you doing? Go!' I said to her through mind link.
'But what about you?' She asked.
'I will be fine, I'll text you as soon as I can.' I replied. Then I realized, I didn't have my phone. Shit.
'Okay...' She said, and started to walk off, still staring at me. When one of the wolves growled at her she started running.
I whimpered in the Alpha's grasp. I was scared to death. He dropped me to the ground lightly and I landed on my feet. He shifted to his human form in all his glory. With a flick of his hand the wolves from his pack ran into the forest.
"Shift." He said. His voice sent shivers through my spine. I shifted to my human form. I didn't really care that I was naked, it's normal for werewolves.
He came up to me and lifted my chin to look him in the eyes. I closed my eyes. You never look an Alpha in the eyes. It's disrespectful.
"Look at me." He said. I tried to get my chin out of his grip, but it was useless.
"I said look at me." He growled. I refused and kept my eyes shut.
"Look at me!" He commanded. I forced my eyes open. That's when it hit me. This man was my mate. This cold hearted monster who is killing my pack, is my mate. Alpha Black is my mate.
Oh help me Goddess.
