I watched as Ant interacted with Casper. Both of them wore bright beautiful smiles upon their faces. It warmed my heart to hear Casper's squeals of pure joy as Ant pushed his on the tree swing. Currently we was an hour away from the house at a beautiful field with a grand oak tree on the hill that over looked the rest of the field. There was a lake with clear blue water on the other side of the hill. The wild flowers were in bloom. All in all it was absolutely breath taking." mommy."Casper called from the swing that hung from the mighty oak tree. "Yes baby?" I asked as i got up from the ground and walked over to him and Ant. "Can you sing us a song?" He asked giving me the puppy dog eyes. "Sure baby. How about a oldy ?" I asked with a smile. He nodded his head with a smile lighting up his face. They both pulled me into a hug. I hugged them back. "Mommy I'll race y'all to the lake. Last one there is a rotten egg!" Casper squealed as he removed his shoes and shirt and bolted towards the water. Me and Ant looked at each other before we copied Casper's actions and bolted to the lake after him. I paused at the waters edge and looked at my reflection in the water. I saw my scars...my ugly scars staring back at me. ' Why do you have to haunt me for?, i hate you! I wish it was you that died! Not your mother! I fucking hate you!!!you're nothing but a waste of space!!' my father's words echoed inside my head as I traced the one that was on my side from wear he had cut me. My eyes roamed over each scar, healing or old ones. Each one held a memory to it. My mind became clouded and haunted by flash backs...

Casper and I stood behind Lashea and stared at her Taking in the beauty of her in the scenery before us. I took in the way her hair blew in the soft wind and the loose curls that twisted and untwisted in the breeze. The wind blew her scent towards my nose. But there was something off about it... I smelt ...fear?.....Sadness?....and Hurt? "Why is Mommy feeling like that Daddy?" Casper asked as he took in Lashea scent also. I looked down at him and rustled his curls. "I don't know kiddo. I'm going to find out though. Why don't you go on in the lake I'll. Be in there with you in a minute." I said with a reassuring smile. He nodded and launched his self into the water. I walked up to Lashea and placed my hand on her shoulder. I felt her jump under my touch. "Why do you care so much about me?" She asked suddenly catching me off guard. "Because....It's my nature to care.....but its something special about you that makes me want to just be everything that you're ever going to need. I guess." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. "But why me ? Why save me? Im nothing but scars and bruises and bad memories." She said her voice on the edge of breaking and crying. I pulled her to my bare chest as I held her tightly while I let her cry. "Because you were worth saving. And I dont care about scars they add character to who you are as a person. Bruises heal and make you stronger. And bad memories can be lessons to carry into the future but don't let them stop you from making new ones no matter how bad those memories are. I want to make better memories with you. And so does Casper." I said as I patted her hair. It was silent for a long moment. "Thank you." She said in a soft voice. "You don't have to thank me Darling." I said with a soft smile playing at my lips. I sat us down on the bank watching Casper playing in the water. Suddenly Lashea bolted out of my lap and into the water screaming for Casper to move. I heard the panic in her voice. Followed by a big splash. Too big to be just Lashea alone. Casper was high tailing it out of the water as I saw Lashea take on ......a ferial, Rogue, mangy, blood thirsty wolf. Apparently it had snuck up on Casper when I wasn't looking. "Casper hide..NOW!" I roared as I saw Lashea take a bad hit to her chest and fall back into the water. I. Charged at the rogue and tackled it into the water and snapped it neck with ease. I swam over to Lashea and saw more damage than what I had expected. I quickly ran to the bank of the lake and started CPR once I realized she wasn't breathing. "Breathe Lashea.........1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10......*breathes into lashea's mouth.* come on*chest compressions* baby I just finally got you back from danger. come on back to me..*breathes into her mouth.*......COME ON DAMN IT!" I growled as I started to panic and feel my heart break with tears falling down my cheeks. One big chest compression and a big breathe and She coughs to life. I quickly placed her on her side as she coughs up all the water she had inside her. "Ew. Lake water. " She said weakly as her nose scrunched up. I pulled her to my chest and I kissed her wet hair. "You scared me." I said as tears felled on her head. I know at that moment. In that second. How much she really meant to me.... How it would feel if I ever lost her..... She's.....my life.
