Chapter six

Adams P.O.V

"So, what's the real reason you want to come with me? Is it to see Rose?" Peter asked as we flew through the night sky, towards the Queen of Hearts castle. It was midnight and Peter was grabbing my upper arm as we flew. "Because I know for sure it's not just to help me." I thought for a moment, wondering if I should really tell him the truth, sighing I looked over at him.

"I wanted to talk to her and ask her some questions, but more importantly thank her. I mean, she did save me from being beheaded." I explained as we flew over the forest, it wouldn't be long before we were at the castle.

"Why do you want to know why she saved you? I mean if it was me I sure wouldn't be going back for answers?" Peter said, looking at the trees below us.

"Well then, I guess I'm not like you. I just hope Rose didn't get into any trouble for helping me." I said, also looking down at the trees.

Roses P.O.V.

I screamed, falling to the ground as tears filled my eyes. My right cheek was burning from the force of my mothers angry slap.

"Did you or did you not let the prisoner escape!?!" My mother screamed. Her face was the shade of her favourite colour.

"N-no mother I'd never. Please don't hurt me!" I cried out, my tears streaming down my face. I placed a hand on my burning cheek, trying to stop the pain.

"You liar! How else do you think he could have gotten away? He was locked in a cell and the door was opened with a key and you happened to be down there at the time!"
"Mother, please I didn't do it!" I cried, backing away, afraid of being at the end of another slap.

"You will be locked in this room until you learn!" My mother screamed, slamming the door behind her as she stormed out. Tears still falling I crawled into bed and lied down.

Suddenly there was a loud bang making me jump. I slowly sat up, wiping the tears off my face. I looked around, trying to find where the sound had come from. The window flew open and a strange boy flew in, along with none other then Adam.

"Adam, what are you doing here? You could get caught!" I whispered loud enough that they could hear me but not loud enough for the guards that stood outside my door to hear. Adam turned to look at me, his smile fading as he saw the bruise forming on my right cheek.

"Rose, are you OK? what happened? why do you have a bruise on your cheek?" Adam asked as he got closer to me. I slowly backed up.

"Look I get you two like each other, I really do, but I'm here for a magic bean and I'm going to get one, one way or another." The strange boy said as he got closer to me.

"Don't you dare get any closer to her." Adam said, stepping in front of me to block the strange boys path.

"Do you mean this?" I asked, pulling out a small, rainbow bean from a little pouch that I had tied around my neck, Peter and Adam started at the bean shocked.
