We entered a hallway on the ground floor on the right of the ballroom. It was very dark because there were no light though it was still daytime this hallway was dark probably because there were no windows in this hallway.
I took out the flashlight that was in my left pants pocket, Damien had given it to me.
I put it on andpointed it in the hallway.
And infront of us stood a lady with a knife in her hands blood still dripping from it. I immediately let go of the flashlight when I saw her.
And as soon as the flash light fell I quickly reacted and picked it up and pointed it at the hallway.
"Did you see that?" I was spooked at all that was going on.
"Saw what Andrew?" Charoline grabbed hold of my hand. We slowly started to approach the door at the end of the hallway I flashed the light around looking at the surroundings. And suddenly we heard footsteps running away behind the door.
"Please tell me you heard that?" A shiver ran down my spine and we stopped. Edric was now hiding behind me grabbing onto my leg.
"Yes...I...I heard footsteps." She squeezed my hand and it started to hurt but I didn't mind.
When we finally reached the door it was locked but there were no key holes.
"Bummer its locked but do you see any key holes ? Cause I don't." I looked at Charoline. But she just shook her head. So I decided to search for a handle but found none. And as I stepped to the right of the door I felt my foot stepping on a presure panel. I immediately shone the light on it and saw that one of the tiles from the floor stood out. So I stepped on it again with my full weight but it didn't go down all the way.
"Charoline you and Eddy need to help me." I was excited I loved puzzles and secret rooms but the thought of this being some sort of trap also crossed my mind but was silenced by my curiosity. I held Edric in my arms and held Charoline close as we stepped on it.
We heard something to our left move. I quickly shone the flashlight on it. A little square oppened in the wall and there was a panel with something writtin on it.
I ride on four squares
When I meet the king I yell mate."It is a riddle. Awesome!" I exclaimed excitedly. I looked at the floor and noticed that the tiles were black and white.
"A knight only moves in four squares, its the chest board game! I think we should move like the knight on the chest board." I figured it out and I felt so proud of myself.
"Yah but you suck in chest!" Charoline said and looked at me very seriously.
"I may suck but I know how a knight moves." I smiled back at her and then looked to the floor. I scanned it and saw that there was only one way we could move.
"Now put your toes on mine and follow my lead we have to move at the same time." Charoline nodded in response and we startes to move. First one square left then one away from the door then another and with every step we heard a clicking sound.
When we stepped on the last square it went a bit into the ground. The door opened and I smiled broadly. We entered a very long room.
It was a very beautiful room with lots of candles. When we let go of each other the door slowly closed as I flashed the light on the door I saw that it could be easily opened from the inside.
"There are alot of candles in this room so there is probably some matches somewhere in one of these drawers." Charoline looked like she was feeling a bit smarter then usual.
