Chapter 2 - First Hours = First Problems?

 Finally, I´m here.

“What do you think, sis? – Finn asked me, excitement in his voice.

“Are you kidding me, it´s my dream come true!”- I almost shouted

“Let´s get your stuff and look for your dorm keys”

Finn parked in his assigned spot in the parking lot and then  we started walking along a path covered in small white stones. We walked through a really big arcade that was covered in flowers, it reminded me of a fairy tale. Passing it we could already see the buildings that formed a semicircle, and in the center was a huge garden full of benches and of course students. Some of them were lying in the sun and laughing, others were walking while reading with a nervous expression in their faces and other were just chilling.

“Try not to drool all over the place, please”- he said, amusement in his voice.

“Really funny Finn!- I answered while hitting him playfully in the head - “Let me enjoy myself a little bit!”

“OWW!"- he half shouted, earning some looks from the people around us - "Later, now here is the reception, come with me”

We entered the reception and when I was about to check- in I heard somebody shouting my name: “LEAH! Over here!”

I turned around and there was Sam, sitting in the other side of the room, waving his hand at me. I smiled.

“Hey Finn! There´s Sam, let´s go with him. He offered to show me the campus”

“Wow, wait. You know him?”-He said with an annoyed look on his face.

I quickly told him what happened at the airport and the coincidence of our seats in the plane.

“Uhm, well, just go with him. See ya later, bye”- He said and quickly walked away, not even waiting for an answer.

That was weird. Finn´s been acting so strange, first Michelle, now Sam. I have to talk to him... but it can wait.

I started walking towards Sam, that was watching my brother leave with a strange smirk on his face. I sat beside him, trying to find the right words to say before everything turned awkward. Luckily, he spoke first:

“Liked the campus so far?”

“Actually I coudn´t walk around yet. I need to  check-in” first!- I told him.

“Well, you can do that later. Now, I´m going to show you the campus and introduce you to some people”

After walking around with him I realized that I wasn´t the only one that felt slightly attracted to Sam. Some girls that saw us together shot me with a death glare while  other girls just ignored me and smiled at him while batting their eyelashes or curling a strand of their hair. Idiots.  I didn´t want to be hated, it wasn´t even my first day! 

One of my biggest problems is that I´m really insecure. I always need the approval of everybody. I know, it sounds really stupid but I can´t help it. I didn´t want to be hated just because of  walking with the CUDA´s heartbreaker.

“Hey, Sam, I think I´m going to check-in you know.  I´m a little bit tired because of the flight and I want to check my stuff for tomorrow” – I lied –“Maybe you can introduce me to some people later, ok?”

“It´s totally fine”- He said trying to hide his dissapoinment- “See ya around”

"Ok! Bye Sam, and thank you!"- I said. He just smiled and walked away.

I quickly took my phone and called my brother. He didn´t answer, of course. Was he angry because I chose Sam to show me the school instead of him? After a few more calls I decided to go to the coffee shop to grab some coffee and something to eat. I was starving.

After buying a banana muffin and a chocolate milkshake i headed to the reception.

"Hello Miss how can I help you?" - the receptionist  said to me in a high pitched voice.

"My name is Leah Jones, I´m new and I need my schedule for tomorrow as well as my dorm keys"

"Here you have your keys and schedule. Room 459, your roommate is not here yet" - she said with a smile 

"Thanks"
