01 | Taming a New Mission

Azaela Ember Quinn

"The suspects are in the warehouse, I repeat, the suspects are in the warehouse." Our tech expert Cliff spoke through our earpieces.

"Copy that."

With his next signal my partner, Frank, motioned me to move inside; to the barrel. Nodding in agreement I quickly ran past the entrance of the abandoned warehouse and crouched down by the barrel, putting on a gas mask.

Once all of us were in our positions,
Oliver waited three seconds before opening a smoke bomb and releasing it at the entrance. A few seconds later, smoke came to my feet along with three figures rushing out - two guys and one girl. They began coughing, allowing us to engage. First Frank came out from his spot and kicked the closest guy by him, following up with a strong uppercut. Another guy who was next to the person Frank was kicking, attacked Frank, making him go down with a thud. That's when Oliver came out from his hiding spot and punched the guy repeatedly. Then, the rest of our team -except me- came out of our spots and ambushed the rest of the gang. Girl vs. Girl and guys vs. guys. By far we were winning from my perspective until a gun shot rang out. One of our members, Bridgette, fell to the ground clenching her stomach while moaning in pain. The girl who she had taken on pointed the gun to her head and shouted, "Stop fighting or else I'll shoot her brains out!"

Immediately Oliver and Frank stopped their punches and looked at Bridgette with a solemn face. They both backed away from their opponents receiving a smirk from the girl who was holding Bridgette at gun point.

"Now, I want you to take out your your weapons and drop them on the ground," she commanded. Frank and Oliver looked at each other before removing their guns from their holders and placing them on the floor gently, then putting their hands up in surrender.

"Good boys. Now I want you to do anything I say or else she," she motions to Bridgette. "Will get it."

"Or how about you do what we say before you make things worse than it already is," Oliver suggested.

The girl scoffed. "What makes you think that? I have your little friend at gun point."

"Yeah," then Frank lowered his hands, putting them behind his back giving me the signal. "But you don't have our other friend."

My cue. I take out my shot gun and aimed at the two guys, shooting at their guts. They both fall to the floor clenching their stomachs like Bridgette. I tumble on the floor until I'm seen in the light. Standing up I walked towards the girl while Frank and Oliver take out their hand cuffs, cuffing the guys.

"I wouldn't dare to move another step if I were you." The girl warned me.

I took one step forward. "And what happens if I don't."

"Then I'll just do this." She pulled the trigger on her pistol and shot Bridgette again in the stomach. My time to move. I ran to the girl and tackled her to the ground. While she was groaning in pain I punched her repeatedly until Frank pulled me away.

"She's passed out by now Ember," Frank breathed out pointing to the girls passed out body.

"I know." I took out my hand cuffs and cuffed her up. Then I pressed on my ear piece and spoke, "Sir the suspects are knocked out cold, I repeat they are knocked out cold. It's safe to take them away."
