A/N--- I am posting a short chapter only because I have not posted in awhile and that's just is sad. Better to post more often with shorter chapters then one slightly long chapter once a month. Right? I am working on multiple stories, feel free to check them out. I hope you enjoy this book further on.

-------John POV-------

Willow has been acting slightly strange since the night of the storm. Did something happen after I went to bed? I ignore it and continue reading my daily newspaper. Willow sits with an open book on her lap, though she doesn't read it. She stares straight ahead, oblivious to everything. Sherlock hasn't woken up yet. Or at least he hasn't come out of his room. All I can imagine is that he's working on a case or experimenting with new chemicals. The usual. But Willow-

"Hey Willow, are you okay?"

No response.

"Willow?"

Still no response.

"Willow." I say louder than before and more stern than I expected. But I succeeded in catching her attention-

She turns her head.

"Yes, John?" Her words are flat, her once blue eyes now dead and grey. Her lips parted and dry.

"Are you okay?" I ask again, more worried than before.

-----Willow POV-------

His words slur between my thoughts, but I can still make them out.

"Fine, John, I'm fine." But I'm not, I'm dying inside. It's empty. I turn my head from the agonized John and continue my thoughts. The people.

The people. The people. The people. There's emotion.

Sentiment.

Lust.

Anger.

Kill...

Why do people bathe in this. The way humans function, the chemical mixes within their glands, choosing this unexpected emotion. Their emotion is different.

With an absent mind I gather my coat and continue outside. I pass many figures, blurred by motion. I pass a man.

They catch my attention. Their face dull, bored

My head turns as they pass, they walk into the many people behind me.

I follow. Why? Why am I follow a man who I don't recognize?

I question myself as my body follows. Though I am letting it, he intrigues me.
