"Not all hero wears cape" ~anonymous
Chapter 4
*Beep, beep, beep*
Ugh, not again. I tried to move my hand, but it wouldn't budge. I tried opening my eyes this time, it doesn't want to open.
I groaned from the pain that spread like a wildfire through my whole body.
"Paris?" I heard someone call my name, but it was so far. It sounded like a whisper.
"Open your eyes, Paris", the voice said again. I groaned once again from the pain that I am now feeling.
I opened my mouth, which I successfully did, but there was no voice coming out.
"You can do it", the voice became clearer and it was Luis's fiancé, Divina.
I tried to utter the phrase,"I'm trying". "I'll give you water", Divina said.
After a minute, I felt a straw on my lip. "Take a sip", I heard Divina said and I did what she told me.
"Why can't I open my eyes?" I finally said.
"The doctor is coming soon, it's probably because you have been in a coma for a month", Divina explained.
"A month?" I asked. I feel weird talking while my eyes are closed.
"She's awake?" I heard a new voice said.
"Yes, Dr. Watson", Divina said, "And she can't open her eyes".
"Paris?" the doctor called out. "Yeah", I replied.
I felt the doctor touched my eyes and was gently massaging it.
"Mommy, why can't she open her eyes?" a little boy's voice said in the room and I instantly recognize that voice.
It was the little boy I have saved a month ago. "It will open soon, baby", a lady's voice said. Probably the little boy's mom.
What the.
"Try opening them now", the doctor said.
I opened my eyes and was immediately blinded by the light. "Shit", I cursed and closed my eyes again. "Slowly", the doctor said.
I opened my eyes slowly this time and the light was still hurting my eyes, but it wasn't that bad like earlier.
I looked around and I saw Divina, the little boy, whose name I haven't got, yet, a lady beside him and a man. I saw the doctor next to me.
"What are you feeling?" the doctor asked. "Pain, obviously", I said.
My right arm was on a sling and my ribs were aching so bad. "Do you remember everything that has happened?" Dr. Watson asked and I nodded my head.
"So I assume, you know that little boy", he said and I muttered, "Yes".
I saw a cast wrapped on the little boy's wrist. Probably sprained it.
"You did a good job, by the way", I said to the boy and he said thank you, knowing what I was talking about.
"How is she?" Divina asked the doctor. "She's doing good, she's just in a lot of pain right now, especially with her wound in her side and on her shoulder, along with two broken ribs, but she's alright", Dr. Watson said, "I will give you medicine for the pain and you can go home by tomorrow".
"Okay, thanks doc", Divina said.
The doctor walked out and I looked back at the boy. "I never got your name", I told him. The little boy blushed. Awe, how adorable.
"Saffron", he answered and I smiled. "I like your name", I said to him and he smiled. "I like yours, too", he replied.
Someone cleared their throat and it was the man. "Hi", he said and I nodded my head, "I am Saffron's dad, Sebastian, and this is my wife, Kyline". He pointed at the lady beside him.
"Nice to meet you", I said. "I just want to say 'thank you' for saving my son", the lady spoke you, "He has been missing for a month".
"We were shock when someone called and it was a police from Paris saying they have found our son", the man, Sebastian, said.
"You guys are not from here, are you?" I said and they shaked their head. "No, we're from London", the lady, Kyline, said this time.
That explains the little boy, Saffron's accent.
"We can't thank you enough for what you have done, you risked your life for our son even if you don't know him", Kyline said, "I can't bear to lose a loved one, again".
"Don't worry about it, glad I saved him", I said.
Saffron yawned. "Mommy, I'm tired", he said and pulled up his arms, wanting to be carried.
Sebastian grabbed him instead and carried his son. "We should go, Saffron needs to rest amd he hasn't been getting that ever since we got him back", Kyline said, "He's been waiting for you to wake up and calling your name whenever he sleeps".
"I'll talk to him when I get out of this place, but right now, just be there with him and don't ask him anything about what has happened, it will make things worst, trust me", I told Kyline and she nodded her head. "We'll be heading then", Kyline said and they walked out of the door with a sleeping Saffron.
"I'm in trouble, aren't I?" I said to Divina after Saffron's family left.
"Not really", she said amd I raised my eyebrow at her, "Well, Luis is pissed as hell and Alejandro, too, but knowing you saved a little boy, eased it up a bit".
"Where are they?" I asked. "I told them to go home and rest, they have been watching you ever since we got a call from the hospital", Divina said.
"I thought Luis was in Spain?"I asked. "He flew here right away after I called him", she answered, "You're a family, of course he would put you first".
"Luis can fly?"
Divina chuckled. "You know what I mean", she said and a smile formed in my lips.
A nurse came inside and give me the medicine the doctor was talking about. I drank it and told Divina that I am going to sleep.
"I'll call Luis and Alejandro and tell them you're awake", she said.
"Okay", I replied, "Oh and please protect my battered body from those two if they want to kill me, I'm already feeling like shit".
Divina laughed. "They won't hurt you or kill you", she said, "Go and sleep".
"Will do", I said and I closed my eyes once again.
