The Boys Are Back In Town

Chapter 5

I woke up being cold. I shivered. I opened my eyes. I was laying next to Bass. He was naked. I was too. Bass was awake. He looked at me. I shivered. He said "Are you cold"?

I nodded. He said "Get dressed. We'll go home". I nodded. I stood up. I got dressed. He got dressed too. He packed everything up. Then he pulled a jacket out. He handed it to me.

I put it on. Then I wrapped my arms around him. He put his arm around my waist. We walked home. As soon as we walked in I felt better. It was warm in the house. Bass said "I think Miles is still sleeping". I nodded. We sat down on the couch. A couple of minutes later I was warm enough to take Bass's jacket off.

He said "Are we taking our clothes off again"? He laughed. I smiled. Then I heard a door slam from upstairs. I stood up. Miles ran down the stairs. He saw me. He ran to me. He hugged me. Sebastian said "Easy Miles. She still has a little bit of drugs still in her".

Miles looked at him. Then he looked at me. He said "What happened"? I looked at the ground. He said "Charlie, please".

I said "They touched me".

Miles said "What do you mean touch"?

I said "What do you think I mean? It was a group of men. What do you think they would have been touching? My arm"?

Miles said "Charlie. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have let you go".

I said "I was going anyway. I didn't want Bass to leave. I went by myself. I found Connor pretty easily".

He said "I'm so sorry. None of these things should be happening to you".

I said "You really can't change it".

He said "I know". I hugged him.

I whispered "It's not your fault". He nodded. I said "Bass saved me again".

Bass said "I wish it was like Pottsboro, and I got there quicker".

Miles said "What happened in Pottsboro"?

I said "Practically the same thing, but Bass was there before they could do anything". Miles nodded.

He said "Good". Bass put his hand on my back.

I said "Do you want to go check on Conner"? Bass nodded.

He said "Could I go alone? I want to spend some time with my son. I'll take you to see him later, okay"? I nodded. I turned to him. I hugged him.

I whispered "Just don't leave me, okay"?

He said "Never". He kissed me. Miles gagged. Bass smiled. Then he backed away. He walked out the door.

Miles said "Eww". I laughed.

I said "Stop being a baby". I slapped his arm playfully. He smiled.

He said "Do you want to go to town"?

I said "Are you up for it"? He nodded. I said "Alright. Let me get dressed". He nodded. I walked upstairs. I put on some skinny jeans and a tank top. I put my leather jacket on. I put my belt on, and put my gun in the holster. I don't know why I didn't use the gun.

I could've killed them all. God, I'm so stupid. I walked downstairs. Then we walked outside. We walked to the barn. Bass was already gone. Miles said "I just realized you called him Bass today". I nodded.

I said "I know. I don't even think about it anymore". He smiled.

He said "That's a good sign". I nodded. I brushed Arabella. I tacked her up. I got on her. I helped Miles on. He held on. Arabella took off. She ran into town. She stopped at the office.
