~Story~
I did not know how Gina was going to react.
"Wait so you are like.... Caitlyn Jenner?"
I nodded again. She stuck her arm out for me to grab on and I hooked her arm with mine and we walked to the car.
"I'm sorry, I just don't know how to react. I never met anyone gay or trans or whatever." She said searching through her purse for keys.
Rain pouring down upon us similar to a shower head, our hair drenched and looked resembled the grudges death couture.
She finally fumbled around enough to find the key in her over-sized under filled shining silver bag.
"I found them." The car lights blazed on for a moment and there was a quiet horn.
We rushed into the car and looked at each other, there was a smile on both of our faces as we fixed our drenched hair. Gina normally has a light brown curly hair but now its just looks like straight black hair, sort of like Ally Hills.
I heard the engine start, the radio and gauge display turned on. I tapped around the radio and connected my phone to the car through Bluetooth.
I started to play one of my favorite albums, Vessel by Twenty One Pilots. I tapped my foot along to the beats and mentally singing along.
She asked me, "Son, when I grow old,
Will you buy me a house of gold?
And when your father turns to stone,
Will you take care of me?"
We pulled out the parking lot of the little shopping complex and slide out of onto the street due to how wet the road and our tires were. As it is December I wouldn't be surprised if it were to start snowing. But we magically make it home without dying.
Gina is tired so she stays at my place on the couch, we sit down on the couch and she asks me if there are any movies that would help her understand me better. I open my phone and cast Netflix to my TV, a few seconds past while the app loads and then "Boy meets Girl" appears on TV.
When the movie is near the end she sees them walk out the lake and she looks away for a second. She takes my phone and pauses the movie.
"Is that how trans people are like?"
I nod yes and I lay upon her shoulder and play the movie. When the movie ends she is so tired that she is basically sleeping. I carefully lay her head upon a pillow and go to my room.
