                           Luke Hemmings

"Are you serious? How can you be so stupid?" Calum yelled at me. Apparently he thinks because Adelaide is "hot" I should act extra special to her but honestly I couldn't give a shit. Brooklyn was with us obviously just listening.

"I may seem to find your yelling amusing but keep it down, she might hear you." Brooklyn pointed to Adelaide and her so-called friends. I was just trying to help her but that ended up with me becoming an ice cream sundae. Tomorrow we have to wake up early and I really don't want to deal with her yapping so I just won't talk to her.

"Leave her alone. I'm so sick of you guys making fun of someone just because of their looks. Joy is sweet and caring, the exact opposite of you two." I'm pretty sure everyone heard Adelaide yelling at her acquaintances. She actually listened to what I had to say.

"You never really fit in with us anyways. It was because you and that attention seeking whore are the same. Bye." And with that the girls left Adelaide with a shocked expression.

"All this drama is giving me a headache, I'm going to get a drink of water."

The last few hours have been totally interesting. It seems that Adelaide already found herself a new friend and more of that drama shit is still going on with her former friends even though they ended it hours ago.

"Are you going to the cafeteria, Luke?" Cal looked at me.

"Yeah I'm just going to get an apple. Want anything?" I whispered the last part because I didn't actually want to get him anything. As I was walking I saw Adelaide outside, eating by herself. I stared until she looked this way.

"What do you want? For me to say you were right?" She covered her face.

"Yeah, that wou-" Adelaide had tears dripping from her eyes.

"Oh great people are here. And there! Where am I supposed to go?" I grabbed her and gave her a hug so she could hide her tears. "I'm going to say this once and only once, I'm sorry. Also, I told you so."

"I don't like you but thank you Lucas. Thank you so much." My cheeks immediately got hot when she started to hug me tighter. Just like the old days. "I just wanted friends. I thought that if I stopped being so girly more guys would stop liking me and the girls would like me."

"If the girls don't like you for you then don't become their friends. You only need one best friend. I hope you find that best friend. Well bye." I let go and walked away.

I want to become that best friend.
