*8 years later*

He did it again, no mater how many times I begged and pleaded! No matter how many times I cried! It always got worse!! Now, instead of having one black eye, I have two!! This is gunna be wonderful to try and cover up for school Only on person knows that my "step" dad beats me, and that's my best friend Laylee!

I decided today is gunna be a sweat pants and hoodie day, just to make sure no one sees my bruises!! I think he may have broken my rib, cuz it hurts like Hell! I finished putting on my clothes, so I start to put on my concealer. It is kinda covering it, but it's still noticeable, so I'll just attempt that I fell and hit My head!!

I look at my clock and realize I stil have 15 mins before I have to leave!! So I decide to txt Laylee! Laylee has been my bestfriend since my dad died!! She's always been there for me! And most the time her mom and dad or more of a mom and dad than my own rents! Seems how my mom is always to "busy" to even come home to notice her 16 year old gets the snot beat out of her everyday! See moms a lawyer, so she makes pretty damn good money, that's the only reason I have my clothes, Phone, and iPod, along with anything else i can think of!

Laylee txts me, and asks if he did it again today! And as usually I txt her back "of course, it never stops, u should know this Lay!" I know Lay doesn't mean any harm when asking, but sometimes it just brings back memories I don't want!

I don't here any noise coming from down stairs, so I hurry grab my bag, and I'm out the door before u can say "I". I start running down the street to make some distance between the Hell hole and me! School is only a few blocks away, and Lay lives right down the road, so I just meet her..

I see Lay and start running as fast as I can! I'm only 5,6 so I can't move that fast!!

"LYLA". Yes my names Lyla! I hate it, Lay is like my twin, we look alike, and act alike! Tho she still insists on callin me by my Hole first name instead of Lio XXXPROUNOUNCED LEOXXX

my dad was the only one who ever called me Lyla, but as long as Lay is the only one Fallon me it I dont care to much!!

I ran into Lays arms and hug her so tight Im pretty sure she turned blue!! If anything Ioved this moment in time the most, when I can stand in Lays arms and forget everything that happens at home!!
