Chapter Six: Sight Lab
When Nick and Bell finally stood up from the bench, they both found themselves laughing easily together. There was just something infectious about the way Bell giggled, making Nick wonder if her nose crinkled or if her eyebrows pulled together. And Bell found herself staring at Nick's face, completely intrigued by the giant grin and brown eyes. It was impossible to think he could be any more perfect than in the magazines she had bought years ago, but there he was: real and completely gorgeous.
"So what now?" Nick asked as they walked through the park.
Bell sighed and stared up at the blue sky, knowing exactly what Nick was referring to. "Well, I have to stop working at the shop obviously. Forget about Michael."
Bell frowned at the thought of Michael. How could someone turn out so bad? She always believed in the faith in people, but she felt mistaken.
"It just sucks cause that was my only actual job. Everything else is volunteer work." Bell kicked at a large rock on the walkway and watched it skid away.
"Do I have to remind you that I'm paying you to teach me piano?" Nick teased lightly, and hit her foot with the cane gently. Bell wondered how he could have such precision with being blind. She tripped over her own feet all the time.
"About that...can we change the deal? I don't really feel comfortable with you paying me," Bell said. She had been thinking about it for a while now. "I mean you are giving me guitar lessons as well, so it's kind of unneeded to pay me."
"Bell, I want to pay you. It's how it should be. Besides, it's not like I don't have money to spare. You're getting paid and that's the end of this discussion."
"Well, I just think-"
"Bell. Stop, seriously it's okay," Nick stopped walking and Bell stood by him, glancing down at her feet. "Trust me, okay? Just let me pay you. It's the least I can do."
Bell sighed knowing that there was no winning to this argument. As much as she hated taking his money, she knew it could help out her and her dad at home. She sighed again and nodded before giving a small, "fine."
Nick grinned and started walking again. "Good. Now since it's Saturday, how about we do something else for the day?"
"Sure, what do you have in mind?"
"Well, you did mention you wondered how it would be to be blind. Let's give you the experience," Nick said and Bell gaped at him, quickly walking to keep up with his long-legged stride.
"Like a bandana over my eyes?"
"Better," Nick grinned and pulled out his phone. "Call Joe," he said to it and immediately it started ringing. Bell kept trying to keep up with his speed as Nick smiled into his phone and said, "Joe, I need you to take me and Bell to Five Senses."
Bell didn't have any idea as to what he was talking about, but she knew one thing for sure: Nick looked adorable in that hoodie.

Both Joe and Kevin were in the car when they picked Nick and Bell up from the park. They gave each other eyebrow wags that Nick obviously couldn't see, but Bell felt herself blush. She wondered how they thought of her and their brother hanging out. Did they know about the piano deal? Well, they didn't, but she figured they were smart enough.
